Malopolska walking / hiking in march

Hi all, I'll be landing in Krakow in last week of March with the aim of doing some walking/ hiking. I've been into the city a few times and Zakopane during autumn and loved it but I'd like a bit of advice for this next trip.

I loved the Tatra's last time out but understand that there's every chance there will still be a few feet of snow / ice on the mountains this time. I don't really want to spend more money on crampons and new boots to fit them onto as this will destroy my budget. Additionaly, i'll be travelling alone and didn't think it was sensible to risk walking that area in those conditions without company .

I'm fine with walking uphill for a few hours and have the necessary clothing for the cold / wet but I'm not looking to scale peaks with ice axes especially, I'm just looking for a relatively peaceful natural settting to spend the days wandering in and a nearby town / village to go back to in the evenings.

So, can anyone suggest alternative destinations up to 2 hours from Krakow that are served by public transport?

Thanks in advance!

How about the Jura and Ojcow National Park?

Good call on Jura - I'll keep it in mind.
I'm also looking at Beskid Wyspowy hills and possibly staying in Myslenice as it seems like it would be a decent place to use as a base to explore the surrounding hills.

Anyone had any experience around there?

While house-hunting we stayed at the Krak Hotel in Myslenice and I can recommend it. The area is beautiful, too.

Cheers! This will be my 4th time over in the past year so maybe i should just join you in house-hunting and save on the future airfares ;-)

I realise that i'm completely at the mercy of the weather in terms of "ideal" destinations but i appreciate any advice whilst trying to form a (loose) plan.

It's only a 5 night trip and i have back problems which makes sitting for long distances a nightmare hence the travelling timescale i've given earlier.

Looking for nice one-day trip trails to hike in Poland

Hi,
I live in Krakow and during the weekends I'm looking to hike. I've already done the one to the peak of Giewont, and currently looking at Morskie Oko. Can anyone recommend other trails I can do for a day trip? Someone suggested going to the Slovakian side, but I don't know how I'd get there exactly.

Please and thank you!

Loking for the same thing, don't have a car, so would need to get there by bus or train.
