Polish Lot - Serving Alcohol

Hey I just have 2 questions... and one very weird question lol.

#1 - I'm 18 and I'm going to travel to Poland, but I was wondering if I'm allowed (legally) to drink alcohol on flight. I would also like to know if the drinking age is the same when I'll be flying back to Canada.

#2 - In Ontario, you must be 19 and older to drink alcohol... if I had alcohol during the flight from Warsaw to Toronto (that's if the drinking age is 18+ on flight) would I be in any sort of trouble once I arrive in Toronto?

It's based on the laws of the country in which the plane is registered. If you're flying LOT, it's no problem. In all honesty, the chances of you being ID'd are basically nil.

The only thing I'm worried about is getting into trouble with the authorities once I arrive in Toronto.

Don't get wasted on the flight back.

Then don't drink.

Anyways, technically if you are served alcohol on LOT - then it would be LOT breaking the Ontario Drinking Law - not you.

Besides, once in Poland you will have the opportunity to drink yourself silly 24/7 since they alcohol is available like in Quebec;)

I don't understand what's so funny... the drinking age in Poland is 18 and LOT is registered in Poland. I was curious whether I'd be able to drink alcohol or not... not too hard to understand.

The answer is yes and yes !


All depend on the amount of alcohol you will drink and how do you handle a drink. If you will have problems with mobility or you will behaving disorderly, it is very likely you will find yourself electrocuted :)

yes, just don't throw things around once in TO. The Taser happy boys might have been transferred from Vancouver Airport to Pearson;) since they are not in jail yet.

Don't worry, On LOT no matter how much you drink, be safe in the knowledge that the pilots will always be drunker than you.

Actually yes - this forum's about Poland rather than Canada. But common sense should prevail, and if you're drunk and disorderly Canadian law will apply. On LOT, you can drink, and in Poland you can drink. Remember three things. Firstly, if you are drunk when you arrive at the airport they might not allow you on the plane. Secondly, if you keep summoning the flight attendant wanting drinks, he/she may decide not to give you many, especially since you are a teenager. Thirdly, never, ever argue with a flight attendant, especially about alcohol - you might not like the result.

Perhaps you shoyuld enjoy a few drinks in Poland (in moderation - teenage binge drinking is viewed as negatively there as anywhere else) and be sensible on the flight. It's a long journey back to Canada, the other passengers don't want to be sat next to a drunken 18 year old and you don't want to feel like shite when you get there.

Lot Airlines does over serve. So it will be up to you, to control yourself.
