My flight on LOT airlines from New York to Warsaw was cancelled. I was rebooked on a flight next day which means I was in Warsaw 24 hours after the original plan. How do I file a claim for compensation and where do I send it?

You contact LOT about it and tell them that you wish to file a compensation claim under Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the European Council. From what you say, you can claim for Euro 600 plus hotel, meal and telephone costs. And yes they do pay out, I can tell you that from personal experience.

I also seem to remember that EU 261/2004 was enforced in an American court not so long ago...
You should have demanded they pay for your hotel room and shuttle bus on the spot, 4 star and up

Demanding things isn't usually a wise idea in American airports.
heh sure, but theres at airline check in desks i think its o.k :) unless lot is emplying TSA psychopaths/peadophiles /thieves as check in agents :)
Is there a standard form I have to fill out to get compensation claim under Regulation 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the European Council. or do I just write a letter to LOT with the information about canceled flights?

Friday, July 27, 2018, my mother and I were supposed to fly back to Europe. We came from NJ (4 hours in traffic) to JFK and tried to check in. We were told our flight was canceled, but most important I spoke with Polish Airlines that same morning regarding additional luggage charge. Nobody informed us about the flight that never even departed from Budapest, we found out that information from my family in Europe, not from the Airlines! They rescheduled our flights for that Sunday, it created a large shift in my schedule and my relative's schedule. So I filled a complaint with Polish Airlines regarding a flight cancelation compensation (Regulation: 261/2004), and have not heard back since September 5, 2018, automatic email response. I am still waiting for a response from them. Are we entitled to a compensation?
If you read the other posts in this thread you will see that you other people have claimed successfully in the past. I would contact them again, maybe by phone this time to see what the status of your claim is. Usually it's pointless phoning Polish officials because they either can't speak English or don't want to but with an airline it should be different. If you speak good Polish it would help though. You'll just have to be persistent as things are often done very slowly in Poland and many businesses who owe customers money, anywhere in the world, will do their best to avoid paying!

I suggest you give it a bit more time, they usually respond after 4-6 weeks. If they don't, which sometimes happens, you may file a complain with ULC: ulc.gov.pl/en/passengers-rights/2503-making-a-complaint
If that doesn't work out, give the case to one of the 261/2004 debt collection companies (they usually charge 30% commission on what they get from the airline)

Hello, my two flights got canceled within 3 days (going forth and then back), I want to make a complain, but cannot find any email address where to send it. Can somebody share what email or URL to use for it? This would be very helpful!
VitaNali, nobody here knows what airline you were flying with, where you were flying from or going to! How can anybody suggest whom you should write to?

I want to make a complain
Better yet, What was the reason they gave for cancelling the flights ?
(hint) the reply to your complaint will be a standard form letter with lip service explaining how sorry they are for your inconveniences.

Hi again, sorry for not giving to many details. I thought that the whole forum is about LOT Polish airlines, therefore I did not specify it. I know for sure that I am entitled to get a comepnsation, since my flight was around 1500 km and I landed on the next day than it was planned (both times). No reason was stated, just announced that the flight is canceled and suggested to take another flight on next day. Vilnius-Warshow-Munich and back. Would you happen to know where to send a complain?
