sobieski 106 | 2111 27 Dec 2010 / #1A question for my fellow Varsovians...Which kebab do you prefer? I have discovered recently Amrit on Plac Wilsona...I find it quite good. Anyway much better than Kebab Rama here in Bielany.
jonni 16 | 2475 27 Dec 2010 / #2The one at Dworzec Gdański's pretty good. The one with its own door to the right of the main entrance - not the one that just has a window in the booking hall.
nana - | 40 28 Dec 2010 / #3The good one (i think one of the best)is in Nowy Świat St. but next to the alternative clubs (Kafe Fajka, Melanż, Klepsydra). It's not on the front of the street. And Sahara kebab - now, it's in the center of the city.
DarrenM 1 | 77 28 Dec 2010 / #4No such thing as a "Good Kebab"The meat is reheated again and again and again. The meat is reformed and heavily spiced making it impossible to determine what part(s) of the animal it came from. Kebab meat high levels of trans fat (hydrogenated plant fat that can contribute to coronary heart disease, obesity and diabetes). Tests revealed “a doner kebab was found to contain 5.8g of trans fat per portion compared to 0.87g in a Big Mac and fries”.You can see the evidence of this fat yourself – such unhealthy fats will solidify and turn white when left too cool down. Next time you purchase a kebab take a sample of the meat and leave it in a cool place overnight. The more white globules you see clinging to the meat the next day the more unhealthy fats (trans fats and saturated fats) are on the meat. You will find that they vary from takeaway to takeaway but they will always be there.Cheap unhealthy crap.
OP sobieski 106 | 2111 28 Dec 2010 / #5I know it is not exactly healthfood, but a good kebab can be tasty, if eaten with moderation :)
jonni 16 | 2475 28 Dec 2010 / #6The good one (i think one of the best)is in Nowy Świat St. but next to the alternative clubs (Kafe Fajka, Melanż, Klepsydra). It's not on the front of the streetThat one used to be great, but then the owner sold it to someone else, and it isn't as good, but OK to sit down in. The old owner has one in Sopot now, near the station. People recommend the place on Marszałkowska just north of the junction with Świętokrzyszka, opposite side to PKiN. There are two next to each other, one always with a queue. No such thing as a "Good Kebab"Especially in the UK where the meat usually comes ready formed from wholesalers - same in Poland nowadays. I'm just back from a month in Istanbul, where the kebabs are in a whole different league.
mephias 10 | 296 28 Dec 2010 / #7A good kebab in WarsawI am Turkish and in my opinion best Kebab(doner) in Warsaw is Efes (Aleja Niepodległości 80. near Raclawicka metro station ).No such thing as a "Good Kebab"It is unhealthy anyway but there are some very very very delicious Kebabs (not in Warsaw).
mafketis 38 | 10861 28 Dec 2010 / #8No such thing as a "Good Kebab"note to self: Never ask DarrenM about food (except as health nazi comic relief)Anyway, I used to like a place on Jerozolimskie very close to nowy swiat but I haven't eaten there in about a year (I'm not in Warsaw so often).
Skoy 2 | 7 10 Jan 2011 / #9am Turkish and in my opinion best Kebab(doner) in Warsaw is Efes (Aleja Niepodległości 80. near Raclawicka metro station ).I second that. Only kebab in Warsaw I found so far that actually resembles kebab.

Sarp - | 2 21 Jan 2011 / #12Hi my friends,I am Turkish ,too. Unfortunately there is no good kebap in Warsaw, but you can find some kind of kebaps in warsaw. As my friends pointed out best one is Efes Restaurant and then Sahara and Sapko. I hope this helps with you.
Boz - | 23 21 Jan 2011 / #13There's another 'Efes'/new one over the road from KFC(Femina) on Jana Pawla
waelpro - | 8 23 Jan 2011 / #14Hi friendsits not true what this turkish say!!!!!!if you not visit one place you can not say there is no another, more you live more you found,it alos good to try to know, what is what, tnx
thegame4ever - | 1 5 Feb 2011 / #16Best kebab hands down is Efes. I've tried them all, kebabs like Sahara don't even compare. There's two in Warsaw, one in centrum and one in saska kepa. You will definitely enjoy it!
poland_ 5 Feb 2011 / #17one in centrum and one in saska kepa. You will definitely enjoy it!I ill agree with Efes, not a big kebab person- although Efes does turn out a nice and spicy bap.
jonni 16 | 2475 5 Feb 2011 / #18There's a nice one on ul. Hoza, sort of opposite the night shops. Turkish owned and really very good. Very friendly and good food. The sad thing is that it's usually empty (but no queues) whereas the one nearby on Marszalkowska, by the Centrum Czeskie is undeservedly popular.Avoid the one over the road next to the Vietnamese restaurant - very nasty indeed.
Karl1983 8 | 41 5 Feb 2011 / #19I know it is not exactly healthfood, but a good kebab can be tasty, if eaten with moderation :)Exactly, just like everything in life!
adammm - | 4 13 Mar 2011 / #20ohhhhhhhhhhhh kebab w warszaway uwaga ,, ask ,, they washing meat before make? baranina ,, is it baranina? how much one kg ? think.......?????? umowa praca workers has????? paragon reseit you get? tax they pay??????if they will wash chiken hard to setup as you saw ,, must be dray,, , ((((( amrit kebab )))))) ((((( sahara)))))))((((al king))))))))) centralna )))))))))))))
JonnyM 11 | 2608 13 Mar 2011 / #21Hmm. Be careful of kebab shops in Poland who advertise lamb, but due to costs, sell a mix of lamb and beef, hoping nobody will notice.
isthatu2 4 | 2692 13 Mar 2011 / #22Avoid the one over the road next to the Vietnamese restaurant - very nasty indeed.woof woof woof.....
adammm - | 4 13 Mar 2011 / #23not only mixed with beef,,,,,,,,,,, the bones i the skin bread fat and more more 0% lamb
JonnyM 11 | 2608 13 Mar 2011 / #24the bones i the skin bread fatNothing wrong with that! What do you think sausages are made of?0% lambThis however is a problem. Better to go to the ones you can trust, like the one at Dworzec Gdański, or on ul. Hoźa.
JonnyM 11 | 2608 13 Mar 2011 / #26i will tell you about the sausageJust go to Biedronka and find out. Better stick with kebabs!
adammm - | 4 13 Mar 2011 / #27the question is ,, why workers only turkish or arabs or indian and asian ,, what about polish ,, we have no jobs
JonnyM 11 | 2608 13 Mar 2011 / #28why workers only turkish or arabs or indian and asian ,, what about polishNo shortage of Poles working in kebab shops. But are you surprised that Turks are making Turkish food, Arabs are making Arab food, Indians are making Indian food etc? If I wanted pierogi, I would go to a Pole, if I want a kebab, I'll go to a Turk. But there's nothing to stop Poles opening kebab shops - it's just that when they do, the food tends to be bland, greasy and generally awful.
jkb - | 197 3 Feb 2013 / #30My recent discovery was Kebab King - a network of kebab restaurants. Good prices and good quality. I also like Amrit.
