Golabki in Mragowo - where to buy?

Any ideas on where to get golabki in Mragowo? I haven't seen it on the menus anywhere yet.

Try a milk bar. Addresses can be found by googling mrągowo bar mleczny or mrągowo obiady domowe. These places don't cook them every day, but if you visit a few, you'll be sure to find them.

Almost anywhere cheap. It's homecooking rather than restaurant cuisine, but in more basic places it's often a menu staple. As Roger says, not everywhere will have it every day, however you'll certainly see it.

If all else fails pick some up at the supermarket is a jar and heat them up at home :) Miedzychod and Pudliszki brands are both ok.

I didn't think of that! Yes, they're as good as you'll probably get in cafe.

Smaki Mazur claim they serve some sort of fish gołąbki. Perhaps they have traditional ones, too.
I wouldn't tryb gołąbki in a jar. Pudliszki is a good brand but I can't imagine having gołąbki this way.

Golabki aren't exactly complicated things.


As a brand, it's just the usual chemical filled processed food. Thousands if not millions in PL do eat golabki from a jar.

Golabki are OK, but not especially interesting. Not restaurant food either - anyone can make them easily at home with basic ingredients and very little skill. Or buy ready made, which most people probably do.

The one thing you should try is the soups - these are often very good.

I don't know anyone who eats gołąbki from a jar. I haven't seen them in shops. Perhaps because I'm not looking.

They are time consuming though which makes it more special when someone does make it. And done well they are very delicious. I have a friend that makes excellent ones (but only does so a couple times a year cause it's time consuming).

That said, I like Hungarian ones (cooked together with sauerkraut) wtih paprika sauce and sour cream or Bulgarian and Romanian ones (made with whole leaves of pickled cabbage) a little better.

Somebody must, since almost all food shops have them. There's usually a shelf with all the jarred stuff. I don't eat them either unless someone makes them - I'm not fond of golabki.


They're OK with chilli in.
