I also think that based on reports I've heard about the place, free might still be slightly too much money to pay for a night there.

I think it's a dive and people would be well advised to give it a miss.

The bathrooms are very cold, the rooms are cold, the receptionist sleeps overnight on a dirty mattress in a side room, they don't have any decent links to taxi companies, the list goes on...

The only good thing about the place is the location.

And yes, I've stayed there and wasn't impressed. Giving people thin blankets in a double room in the middle of winter (with it being -15c outside) is just ridiculous.
