Krakow, for sure.

The city itself is beautiful & as traveller said there's much more to do in the surroundings. Also if you get bored of it all, you can hop to Prague or Bratislava easily. Definitly Krakow.

Everyone says Kraków, so I will too....but...I've lived in both cities and they both have a lot to offer. Warszawa is more modern with all the new buildings but Kraków is more historical with the Sukiennice and Wawel and a short trip away are the salt mines in Wieliczka.

Definitely Krakow !
Why ? Because the woman I love was born and is living in Krakow.
Me ? Oh noooo, I've never been in Poland.

Isn't love grand ? :-)

Krakow tends to lose its polish character through kebab shops, bars, foreigners everywhere. The Czechs were smarter as not to let such shops develop in the center and so they kept Prague style. In the center of Krakow now there are smells, hords of tourists, cafe sits extended on square,it rapidly turns into another drinking, clubbing holiday resort and since architecture is not that impressive like in Prague,it will not remind of Poland in short time.It was magnificent 4 years ago when there were much less tourists and it was polish city.Polaks make mistakes and apparently the state suffers from corruption as to let those things happen in the center of their historical cities.

If it's a choice between Warsaw and Krakow ..... it has to be Krakow !

I think it has one of the most beautiful 'ryneks' in Poland , and I have a sentimental reason for liking Krakow ... I got engaged there :o)

I would vote for Krakow, eventhough it gets a bit overcrowded at times...

Hi all,
i am italian (from Rome) and i have planned to visit Krakow (and its suburbs) this summer (August). Is there anybody who may give hospitality to me? I don't like touristic accomodations and I prefer ethical travels. If you have suggestions about places to stay please let me know! Thanks.

Krakow

Warsaw reminded me of just a bunch of other cities. Krakow does cater to the tourists, which, as others are saying here, at some point turned into a bad thing. But Warsaw doesn't have an equivalent to Wawel. So, you need to see that first and foremost

Which city is best to see during Christmas

While I don't know about the 30+ women availability, I might almost vote for Warsaw at Christmas time. Someone else can correct me if I don't have all the facts. But it seems Warsaw is lit up with a bunch of lights around Christmas...the old town, Nowego Swiat (?) street, that area all seemed very pretty. I was in Krakow in January, so maybe all Christmas related things were already gone. So perhaps I'm being unfair

And based on the number of people there then, I imagine Krakow gets VERY overrun with tourists in certain seasons

which city is better to visit as a tourist: Warsaw or Krakow?

I've never been to Krakow but one thing I noticed is how massive and spaced out everything is Warsaw. I'm originally a Londoner used to living in the cramped city but in Warsaw there is so much room.

It's not a very attractive city but I've been to other places in Poland that are very attractive so it doesn't really matter in that respect.

To be honest I'd much rather spend my time in Poznan.
