August/September 2013 we (just the two of us) will stay in Mazury for several days. From the area of Ruciane-Nida we'd like to make a daytrip to Vilnius by bus. Which buscompany arranges trips like this and where can we find it? Many thanks for your help!

Ruciane is in the middle of nowhere on the transport map of Poland - I very much doubt there is any services to ?Vilnius.
You would need to go to Suwałki first to catch a regular service. How many people are you?

The best thing and most practical thing will be to hire a minibus - it will cost about 500 PLN maybe less

I checked it - there are no direct bus links between Ruciane and Suwałki either

Dear Gumishu,

thank you very much for your quick response. My wife and I will visit Poland in the late summer preparing a one-month-trip in spring 2014 for a group of ca. 30 dutch tourists (at the age of 60+). A visit to Vilnius could be a part of the activities we planned in Mazury, if possible, of course. Your reaction tells me, this would be a problem. Perhaps Ruciane is not the right place for a (longer) stay. We like biking, walking and seeing sights, so we opted for Ruciane, a place in the middle of nowhere, indeed, but also in de middle of Mazury. When we must forget the trip to Vilnius, we can go to another, may be a better place. Do you have a suggestion?

if you organize stay for 30 people than it's pretty easy to hire a bus too - this is just one firm that hires buses: pks.olsztyn.pl/node/2

there are others too: panoramafirm.pl/wynajem_autokar%C3%B3w/warmi%C5%84sko-mazurskie,,olsztyn

you will also need an English speaking guide as bus drivers may not speak English
