Hello, I am traveling to Poland in summer, 2016. I am trying to put the trip together on my own. There will be 3 of us in my group. I want to set up some private tours for our group. For example, when we are in Krakow, I would like to set up a tour of Auschwicz. I was hoping to find a guide that would pick us up at our hotel in Krakow, take us to Auschwitz and Birkenau, serve as a guide during the tour, and drive us back to our hotel in Krakow. When we are in other cities, we would like to hire a guide to take us around that particular city. Does Poland have some type of national travel bureau/agency that provides these types of services for different cities? Any info you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are many different companies in Kraków which offer private tours of Auschwitz, and other sites.
Here is one such example offering private tours with a guide and collection to and from your hotel:
krakowdirect.com/auschwitz_tour/
Google for other companies, but check prices as they can be quite variable. I would imagine in most of Poland's cities you could find the same thing.
Kraków has quite a few tourist offices, and they act as vendors for guided day trips etc, so it may be worthwhile contacting them. Here is a link to them with phone numbers and email addresses:

I'm from Canada and I was in Poland last summer: in Wroclaw, Krakow and Oswięcim (we also visited Auschwitz). I hired company wratislaviatour.com/en/ which offers tours around Wroclaw and from Wroclaw to other cities. They transfered me and my friends to this cities and guide told us a lot of interesting things about them. Contact with them or check website.
tina, how much would you charge to guide 15 people around Wrocław for one full day?

I checked this company out for a poster who was asking about them on another thread. They charge 350 PLN for a walking tour of Wrocław, which I thought was pretty steep myself, especially when you can join free walking tours and just give a donation at the end.
In Old Town of Cracow, there are guys advertizing for tours in area. As they stand holding signs and are all a few meters from each other, no way to miss them! All agencies offer picking up from hotel, guided tour, lunch and taking back to hotel. Prices are very reasonable. Of course, someone will come up and say that things can be arranged on one's own for less money but for (older but not only) people, who don't want to bother with any detail, it's the perfect solution. I don't know current prices but last time I was in Cracow's Old Town, they were not expensive and I don't think they have gone up so much since then ;).
