Is it worth studying in Poland? International Business for a student and a part time job.

Hi,I'm a student from Bangladesh,considering studying International Business in Poland. But I saw some old posts that said Poland is not a great choice to study in.However it was about 2 years ago,how's the situation right now?

And side note,I speak four languages,unfortunately not Polish,so,is it possible to get a part time job while studying there?
It'd be great if anyone could take the time to answer my query.

It depends upon what you're studying? This is not meant as a facetious answer:-) Furthermore, I'd try to get a serious handle on the language, ideally BEFORE coming to Poland. Even memorizing a few phrases of greeting on the plane over will tend to make a positive on your Polish interlocutors.

At universities, almost all academics, particularly the under fourty set, will know English to a decent extent. Over fifty?? Aehhh, it depends on their background as well as what they teach. I.T, lit.crit., linguistics, law etc., most assuredly. Music, agronomy, hard science?? Much less so.

Let's answer this one first. It's extremely difficult, and near impossible, to find any work as a foreign student in Poland. Make your plans on the very safe assumption that you will never earn a single penny during your stay in Poland. If you can't pay for your studies and living expenses without a job, then forget about studying in Poland.


It's useless to study international business anywhere except at top schools like Harvard or London School of economics, and even then... It's one of the most worthless things to study.

Don't waste your time and your parents money studying something useless that will not help you on the job market. This includes most business and economics-related subjects. Far too many people study these majors, and international business graduates are as common as cockroaches.

Instead, study something useful, math intensive and in-demand like financial engineering, financial mathematics, actuarial sciences or econometrics. Or study a good engineering field like petroleum, geological or biomedical engineering.

And do it either in your home country, or in a rich country with lots of R&D dollars, not Poland.

Sorry, but Poland is generally not the best place for foreign students to study. And "business" majors are just about useless.

A degree from any university in Poland is likely more 'reputable' than the one from Bangladesh (it's going to be 'accepted' in all EU countries). So the choice is clear. The International Business as a major is not a tough one so you should be able to complete it without much difficulties. If you don't know Polish find a college / university that offers courses in English. Your best bet would be to stick to the biggest cities like Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow, Poznan, or Gdansk.

Which is exactly why it's worthless on the job market, unless you want to flip burgers or stock supermarket shelves the rest of your life.

What about the Lazarski university double degree programs? According to their website,they have collaboration with Coventry University,England.

Dominic means that fields calling themselves "Int'l. Business Marketing" etc. are so nebulous that they have little incremental value to an employer. Perhaps you might teach with such a major and earn a moderate income as a university lecturer, just not in Poland with her glutted job prospects.

It's not if you're serious about your studies. Go to a reputable school like SGH, Warsaw University, Kozminski University, Jagiellonian University and start from there. You're unlikely to find anything better in similar countries like Hungary, Czech Republic.. unless you can afford the prices of Germany or UK..

I just now apply for poland student visa but before reach there I want to know the certainty of getting jobs in poland for foreign students.

It's pretty much certain that you won't get any job at all here. Don't bother coming to Poland if you don't have 100% of the money you need to support yourself for all of your course and to pay all of your tuition. If you come here needing to earn money, you will simply need to go home before the end of your course. Sorry but that's the reality here.

Unless you speak POLISH to a good degree, the chances of you getting a job are ZERO. This means you MUST have private means of support for the whole time.

Unless you OFFER a skill that no one else has ....and there are thousands looking for the same jobs.....

Dont listen to them. Im Asian, dont speak Polish and found a job in a multinational company. So do my Indian, Greek, Algerian friends.
