Turkish guy to study at a university in Poland. Is that problem for Polish people?

I have some rumors about racism in poland against turkish people.And i dont know how much this is true ?

-Staring in cafe or bar something else...

-Using bad word suddenly

-some fight against turkish guys

Haha. It just gets a bit tiresome seeing/answering these sort of threads. A Turk in Poland should stay cautious just like I do in Turkey (3+ years ago). It is generally good practice to ask and become aware of cultural norms in nations you visit but especially so in "exotic places". Poland, just like Turkey is not a nation where you encounter the majority (Native) population walking on egg shells. Visitor simply has to do their homework on the surrounding area or events that might be nearing [IE soccer match]

- I would ask which night spots to avoid on certain days/hours
- I would ask which specific words are warnings
- I would ask if there is any clothing (gangs) or behavior (shoes on/off) that would anger locals

There is nothing specific in/about Poland when it pertains to foreigners that is not also the case in 99.99% of the cities on this Planet. Possibly the only mindf*ck for a Turk in Poland would be that as a foreigner you will naturally attract the leftist crowd but if you are a "conservative Turk" you might find their behavior/values troubling.

It's fine, lixt1, there are plenty of people from all round the world in Warsaw and you will be OK. The university in question (the one with the two campuses in Bielany) has plenty of overseas students.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... That's what all muslims say when they are a minority in a Christian country. Over the years when the number of them increases then it's no more "i want my freedom" but rather "muslims rise up. Establish the shariah!"

The Polish Universities don't need you yet you desire them so act like a guest and not like a Muslim that can't be killed.

I know your religion good enough to make a judgment. Muslims can't coexist peacefully with people of other religions. If you say it's not true then you don't live literally according to your faith. Only Muslims who are liberal or not really much connected to their faith are capable of coexisting in Christian country.

I will be tolerant of your religion if Muslims stop forcing their shariah law in European countries and start respect our cultures, customs, beliefs and understand that if a woman wears bikini then it doesn't mean she wants to get laid.

There are religious nutcases that hate other religions and want to impose stuff on others in all kinds of religions. It doesn't look like lixt1 is one of them and he isn't responsible for every bad thing that some other Muslim does in the world so if he respects Poland's laws etc. I see no reason for him not to come to my country.

Admitttedly, there are divergent views regarding the meaning of Islam! Turks are historically Sunni rather Shiiite Muslims, therefore most have traditionally seen themselves as the proverbial "bridge" between Christianity and Islam (Istanbul after all, was once the great Christian citadel known as Constantinople!!!). Taycip Erdogan sees himself unfortunately as a radically conservative Muslim, but such is more of a deviation from more recent development (remember Tansu Cillar during the '90's).

Turks in Poland, as with Westerners in Islamic countries, have to be equally circumspect about their behavior abroad.
