Studying Polish in Poland for a Polish Citizen

Hello,

I am a Polish American whose father is from Poland yet my mother is American. I have already been through the entire citizenship process and I am a confirmed citizen of Poland with a Polish passport. My problem is that my father died when I was 14 and since then I have not spoken Polish. I have looked into Polish classes around Poland yet they are all priced for non-citizens. Are there any resources available for Polish citizens that do not have a sufficient command of the Polish language? I would really like to study at a school like the one in £ódź especially in programs geared towards medical Polish. Does anyone have any ideas or knowledge about what to do?

There are a lot of private turors who could teach you Polish, look on any website.
Official classes for 'foreigners' are expensive - find a good tutor for one-to-one lessons.

Well, my one caveat to that is that I'd like to have a graded class that would look good to Polish universities. I'm kind of getting the sense that I will just have to suck it up and pay for it

what I would do in your position is to study either by yourself or with a tutor (one to one) until such time as you are ready to take an exam, which will give you the piece of paper that you want.

I'm surprised though, that you cannot study Polish in US and get a 'Matura' there.

The Polish language school at the University of Lodz offers a discount to those of Polish descent.

I think Polonus Lodz is cheap and they offer courses for specialized (medical) Polish too. They're really close to Piotrkowska st I think.

And Polonus Lodz has good teachers.
