Are there any current or former Erasmus students in Poland on this forum? If there are, please share your experiances with us. Personally I would like to know where did you go to study (city, university), what subjects, where are you from, how was your staying, how were the teachers, the coleagues, anything you think is worth mentioning either good or bad, any tips, advices, etc.
Also, if there are any wanna-be's Erasmus with the destination Poland please share with us your future plans.
Seriously???!!
No current or former Erasmus student who went to Poland? None to share experience?
At least are there any students at the University of Warsaw who could and would shed some light on the student dormitories, accomodation tips, impressions about the University, etc. anything that could be of use?
I was Erasmus in Warsaw (in the Politechnika Warszawska) last year.
Can't help much with UW stuff as I was only a couple of times there. The campus is really nice by what I could see (specially the archaeology faculty, I was hoping to see Indiana Jones come out of some classroom :P) but no idea about dorms.
Merged: I'm Erasmus student with scholarschip in Katowice, anybody else? Share your experience.
So this is my first year at Poland (i'm in katowice) because i have an erasmus scolarship. is anybody else like this? i'm tempted to apply for it again for next year. has anybody done this? thanks!
i know the wise thing to do is to contact my uni but before i wanted to know some experiences! this is a much cheaper place than my country after all...
Hi! :) I'm going to attend Jagiellonian University (Krakow) in the winter semester, 2017. as an ERASMUS student. If you have any experiences or tips for me, or if you know anything about the Piast dormitory, that would be great. I would like to know everything there is to know about getting around Krakow, prices, nightlife, the university etc.
Also, I heard it can get very cold in the winter, and I'm used to warmer weather so I'm a bit scared that could perhaps affect my time spent in Krakow.... Or not?
Anyway, if you know Croatian already, and it's your native language, it will be much easier to you to learn Polish. I would say the difference between Polish and Croatian is definitely smaller than between English and German. I was recently in Croatia, didn't speak any Croatian, and while maybe spoken Croatian was difficult to understand, the written text on information signs etc. wasn't so difficult, I could understand many things (although as I speak English as well, the English version was easier for me).
I roundly concur, kpc! In most Slavic languages, at the very least counting is more or less recognizable:
Polish: jeden dwa trzy, cztery Russian: odin, dva, tri, chyteri etc.
While English ALONE might well get you around the Linguistics Dept. of a university among enlightened, well-traveled student types, in the rest of the country, you might actually find more resonance with Croatian than English if you still feel shaky in Polish:-)
Hey! I'm from Brazil and I'm also going to attend Jagiellonian University (Law) in the winter semester, 2016/2017. I will be also at Piast dormitory. Is it a good dormitory?
Hey, Amanda! I will also attend the Faculty of law and adiministration! :) About Piast... I think we will stay in a shared bedroom for two, and two bedrooms share a bathroom. I've heard the dorm is ok, nothing special, but the good thing is that everyone in the dorm hangs out and drink together, so that's cool. :)
I will be at Katowice in February for my erasmus life for 5 months. What do you think about Katowice erasmus? Besides I'm coming from Turkey but not muslim.
