Cost of studying music in Poland

Hi. My violin teacher is a second-year college student looking to change
to a better school, but music education in China is getting awfully expensive
in the recent years - average 10,000EUR per year for a school that can level
with a typical European music university. He has been trained in violin for 16
years and really into classic music. The most important factor for him to
choose is cost and an European heritage. There are famous schools in Poland,
like Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. Question is what is the TOTAL cost
of a master-degree study per-year? All cost including lodging has to be
budgeted, including perhaps half-a-year language crash-course. It seems worth
the investment of learning Polish to attend better education.

By the way, I did a bit homework and most suggests 2,000 euro per year for intuition. But professional music schools in China charges a lot more than other professional schools, maybe the same in Poland.

Ummmm.... why are you asking this on an internet forum, instead of writing to schools personally and asking them directly. That's the only way you're going to get a truly accurate and useful answer. Also, be aware that tuition and fees may be quite different for EU students and non-EU students.

Also, when figuring out the total cost, do not forget to include airfare and the cost of getting a visa.

Here's the tuition and fee schedule for the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music:

chopin.edu.pl/en/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/cennik_2013-2014_angielski-marzec.pdf

It's going to cost more than 10,000 Euro in tuition alone, plus give or take 1500-2000 Euro for room. For a starving student lifestyle, he'll need about 2400 to 3000 Euro beyond that. So total cost will be 15,000 Euro a year, at least.

For a list of other state music schools in Poland with links to their websites and some further information, check out this old thread on this forum:

Hi. Thank you for detailed answer! I post here because, even after so many years, the forum post "Study Music in Poland?" remain the top of google search result, showing this forum is the most important source of such information, more important than e.g. many of Polish organizations and companies with the goal of introducing overseas students in mind. Even "Cost of Fryderyk Chopin University of Music" cannot give a search result of the website of the university, but again points back to this forum - as an IT guy, I trust Google's algrithm for weigting English information sources. Besides, Chinese universities (I worked there) usuallly don't emails, not to mention an English one, unless you met them in person and promised to email them a document later, the staff style is to poke mailbox for expected email and leave all others as unread - a style partly due to spam partly due to no thing bad happens to you if you don't read email. Poland is entering modern world from the samiliar communism background as China so I expected the same. - So it seems like the incompetence of other organization is why this forum is here after all. Finally, I had hoped for an overview of all music school cost.

Is this cost of >10,000EUR tuition fee significantly lower than music schools in Germany and other "First World" european countries?

Germany is an exception, because studies in Public universities both for Germans and foreigners are for free or just 500 EUR per semester.
And about answering emails. There is bigger chance that email will be answered if it's from potential customer which will be paying 10 000 EUR tuition :) But generally all emails are answered. Maybe in China it's different, because you have bigger number of people, so more email per person and it's harder to answer.
