Study in Lublin - what is the student life here? Any racism? Accommodation and part time job possibilities.

Hi, I am MASQUR . I am from Bangladesh. I want to study university college of enterprise and administration in lublin. But i don't know student life here, How many problems of racist,accomodation and there are part time job available or not. So details information kindly give me.

Forget about that school. It's not a real university, and the "degree" from there is totally worthless.

And if you need a part-time job to finance your studies, forget about Poland altogether. There are no jobs for foreign students in Poland. Make your plans on the very safe assumption that you will never earn a signle penny during your stay in Poland.

yea..London better for Asians students..lots of Asians and Pakistanis and Bangladesh communities there to help you out.not to mention,economy is booming here now.

@DominicB, don't forget that the OP's range of choices may not be broad and in some places in the world, almost any European institutution impresses.

I'd also disagree that there are "no jobs for foreign students in Poland". There certainly are and I see this often, especially waiters etc, but not in Lublin. The OP would do better to look in Warsaw or Wroclaw.

@Masqur, though racism can sadly exist everywhere, in Poland you'll be fine - especially in the bigger cities (which Lublin isn't). As I say, try Warsaw or Wroclaw (Lodz, Gdansk, Kraków, Poznan are also OK but not so much so for work).

It is certainly not so narrow that this lousy fake school in Lublin should be a viable option, or even on the table at all.


Baloney. You certainly don't see it often, even in Warsaw. Frankly, I don't remember ever seeing a foreign waiter or waitress in Wrocław who wasn't related to the owner. There may be an occasional rare job for an occasional rare foreign student in an ethnic restaurant, but by far most of those rare foreign waiters you see are family members or pre-existing friends of the owner's. Otherwise, there are exceedingly few job opportunities for foreign students in Poland, especially for those who come from places where a fake degree from a fake school somewhere in "Europe" might mean something. So few, that "none" comes far closer to the mark than "often". A lot closer.

Stop trying to discourage anyone who wants to study in Poland.

I doubt things have changed much in the past year. Foreign students rarely find jobs, and holding out the possibility as a real chance is cruel.

No matter how you cut it, Poland is rarely the best place for a foreigner to study. It's rarely near the top of the list, with precious few exceptions, of which the IP is not one.

Jon...You surely know...these "students" coming to Poland to "study" at such kind of "university" only are looking for a backdoor into Schengen. Next question he will ask is about job opportunities. Next if he can bring his family to Poland and if they can work here as well.

Well, you say you've never seen foreign students working (or didn't on your last visit). I see it more and more. Poland can be a great place to study and Lublin perhaps a good choice - especially if his other options, for visa or financial reasons or both, rule out Oxford, Princeton or Bologna.

Im here in Lublin and studying at Katolicki Uniwerystet Lubelski.I have an accomodation problem right now because I live in a private dorm not at uni dorm.. and want to change it. What can be done at this moment I know already just a month left but I feel f***in bad right now.So what would be your idea for me to live.

You can rent a room via Gumtree- plenty of people have rooms to let or in shared flats.

Agree with jon357, half of the population of this country working abroad, but nobody is allowed to come here even to study. What a double standard!!!

People can come here to study but yes it is hypocritical b'cos they want to go abroad and earn but don't want people to go there and earn. They will learn soon and it will hurt

I studied in Lublin for 1 year and I have to say they really hate people from abroad even they hate each other. I've been to 12 countries and 17 cities but Poland was the worst one. Lublin and Bydgoszcz are the most racist cities of Poland you have to be careful in these places.

At the begining of my study period it was nice but after 2 weeks we realized that they don't want us there even our professors and university staffs. They always wanted to attack to us but I should say they are covard they don't fight with you if you are not alone. If they are 3 or more and you are alone they can attack you. We have experienced many situations like this. I really don't understand how it is possible they are racist after HITLER ?

Anyway, If you will go to Lublin don't walk alone at the nights. They don't speak English cause they don't want to learn. If someone try to attack you don't worry and attack them more they will run like a little girl we learned this after 2 weeks.

By the way, I am Turkish and if you feel alone in Lublin just make some Turkish friends. We save our friends, It's our culture and we are not racist like Polish people!
