Hi everyone, I am really stuck up In this dilemma and I had like some suggestions from people, I am an international student of Warsaw university of technology, the last arrival date was 14th October but the visa took time in processing and I got my visa starting from 20th of October hence I booked the tickets on 20th to Warsaw. I messaged the university that I would be late but the university clearly denied that my application is now invalid as the last date of arrival was 14th October, my visa is valid only for 3 months so I planned to go to poland and get a temporary residence card but now I can't do that either. I have my flight to poland in 2days, what do you suggest I do ?

There is no point in going to Poland now. You will just have to turn around and come back, resulting in a big waste of money. Also, there is the risk that you will be refused entry, and that will have a big negative impact on future visa applications.

Forget showing up at the university and expecting them to change their minds. They won't. Not in a million years.

You can always try again next year. Just be more careful about the timing of your visa.

Use the year to beef up your Math and English, and also learn some Polish.

Probably not. Course sequences start in September, and the second semester assumes you have completed the first part of the course. January intakes are generally for students who are transferring from one Polish university to another.

You have to wait until next September.

I read this exchange with interest and I must say it surprised or even shocked me. Why would a Polish uni be so strict about a few days` delay? Why such crazy attitude towards foreigners who can`t be blamed for their visa problems? It is so unPolish.....

Why would a Polish uni be so strict about a few days` delay?

It's not a few days delay. It's a few days after the end of a rather generous six or seven week long delay. The students are well into the semester now, and the OP would have trouble catching up with a month and a half of work.

who can`t be blamed for their visa problems?

Blame has nothing to do with it.

No, the term always starts in October. So, the delay is only 3 weeks. I thought they could close an eye. Well, they must be really strict.

Or there is a chance the OP didn`t pay all the enrollment fees and the deadline for that could be mid October. If that is the case, they can`t close an eye, indeed - no messing with money.
