WOODEN HUNTERS TOWERS ON MY LAND in POLAND.....is it legal....?

Hang on - so there is no way you can object to hunters on your land ?

I once came out and told some hunters that they were not welcome on my land, that if they fought the board or deer with their bare hands it was acceptable but otherwise they could find somewhere else to hunt. I don't have huge moral objections but I dont want it done on my land. These guys accepted it, did tell me that they had right to do it under law but didnt want to upset me and went away - so maybe dialogue would work.

is it legal....?

Hmm they shouldn't put it there without asking but on the other hand they probably didn't know It's private land. Call the local hunters and tell them to remove it (but then I think you lose rights to claim compensation for crops destroyed by wild animals or something...).

The case is simple - if it is your private land and you can prove it, and you don`t want that stuff there, you should go to the nearest Koło £owieckie and talk to its boss and set the date for the removal. They have to take it down if you don`t agree.

Or, another way: :):):)

Wheel hunting is required to withdraw from the inquiry / request to the owner or tenant of land with permission to build a pulpit like. Please do not forget the wheel ONLY hunting is not hunting circuit leaseholder owns !!! So these rules are valid PZ£owieckiego . From personal experience I know what I'm sorry to say I am also a member of the Polish Hunting Association that often blinds are built on the grounds of " peasant " without any contact with the owner. And worst often happens with trees around the pulpit are cut .

Conversely, if the owner of the land is state, national forests are " Bor" has the right and should prosecute the perpetrator .

So..refresh my memory , is it legal to put this thing on my land

Rather not, if they don't have owner's permission. Check if the borders of your land are correct and if the tower is in fact on your land (sometimes it is tricky as the border stones might be placed incorrectly or moved...).

Yes, they are legal.

I don't thin so, if they were placed on private property without prior consent.

Koło łowieckie doesn't need permission from the land owner.

It does. It is not above the law.

Fortunately, we have the rule of law in Poland. :):):):) We are not like US or another wild country.

Another wild country?
What do you mean by this joke? You think it wouldn't work as advised above to contact RDLP or local hunters assc. and ask them to remove their ambona?

I probably meant it as a joke. :):):) What else could I mean? :):):)

There is high probability they will shoot you. Guns are too popular in US. :):):)

hardy harr harr.

Exactly. Thank you for this remark. There are too many Dirty Harrys all over US.

You'll have to forgive @pawian - he means well but the ironic touch is just a little lacking...

He's spot on with the quotation (in Polish), however - you need the landowner's permission to put one of these up on private land. Full stop.

My ironic touch is so subtle that only intelligent people are able to understand it. You probably don`t belong to them. :):):)

But if you hang around longer here, you will certainly gain more wits. :):):)

What do Polish hunters have to do with anything in the US?

Well, it seems you lost it (provided you had it at all!) ;).

I don`t think so. :):) You need to work on your intelligence, like Alexis68. :):):)

You see? You mixed up everything. :(:(:( My subtle irony was lost on you. Pity.

But that is life.

can i drive my Jeep over it

Wildy, I was in your area last night. As I was driving through Mlanower ( on the 11) I noticed a vintage motorbike with a side car being driven by a biker with a german style crash helmet, I thought to myself that has got to be one of the " Wild gang "

It might be better if a a polite chat takes place instead of getting to a war with the neighbors. My experience of country living is that there has to be a lot of give and take, favors passed about and payments made.

Alternative, Wildrover can use his city tactics and end up with his house burnt down.

Or his throat slashed. And his dog's too. And and his vegetable garden trampled! Come on, are you serious?

Yes. But basically they will know that you are hunting on your grounds (illegally) and they will pay special attention to you. When you are caught hunting - you are in big trouble. It's better if you join koło operating on your grounds or don't bother them demanding removal of ambona.

The reason koła are not asking for permission is that there is simply too many owners. Average plot in Poland is below 1 ha so it would be an administrative nightmare to ask every owner for permission. That's why prawo łowieckie said the permission may be required and not that is obligatory.

Which is largely how it works in rural England. Still, even after the ban on fox hunting. Be prepared to let the hunt ride across your pastures if you want any kind of help from the community when times are hard.

wildrover,

is your land fenced in ? if not, it may be a simple mistake.

if someone is going to buy your property. what does their lawyer say on the matter. you are in negotiations, right ?

I serious that pulling down and burning it could result in retaliation. I would.

I would.

Your problem mate.
Not common solution in Poland.

Can you imagine a group o hunters from the local hunting assc. gather with molotov cocktails and open fire to burn down his hoise in revenge for their precoius... ambona? I honestly can't.

How does this work? Would they put the costs of this petrol for cocktails and matches etc. into the hunting association's expenses or what? ;)

Neither is burning the thing down. The whole idea is dumb.

I thought you were going to move shortly to Russia? I mean you are already moving to your "Russian lady" during the last two years...

In this case why to bother about this wooden construction.
And that FSB story sounds to me very strange.

I can't believe you have to put up with tresspassers on your private property! It's dangerous for them to hunt in inhabited areas, anyway. Make them leave!!!

I noticed a vintage motorbike with a side car being driven by a biker with a german style crash helmet, I thought to myself that has got to be one of the " Wild gang "

So thats what BBs been upto these past few days.....

Id be damned tempted just to destroy the thing if it appeared on my land, but, after a cuppa and a ciggie Id try to find out just who put it up and see what their game was. genuine mistake they will move it,if they dont, fek 'em,knock the ghastly looking thing down and leave them a pile of timber.

I wonder if Poles realise that a lot of people think they are some sort of concentration camp watchtowers. Thats not "hunting",thats sitting on your fat arse and plinking at defencles creatures,a pathetic "sport" for grown men................

I would destroy it late at night or early in the morning (when the hunters are not around obviously) and then pretend you don't know anything about it.

Ha.. a lot of usefull information from you peeps and some very funny suggestions as to what to do about this carbuncle on my land....

To answer a few points made...

Hythorn , you asked if i was a veggie , and said if not then i was having double standards in that i was prepared to eat meat but objected to people killing it on my behalf...

No i am not vegetarian , i like hamburgers too much , and i am not against animals being killed for food as long as they are treated well and killed in a humane way... I did say also that i am not against hunting , even if its done for sport , all i said was that i personally would not wish to shoot a wild animal just so i can put its head on my wall... I am not squemish about hunting , i was part of a hunt a few years back , but only as a driver for the hunters , i did not kill anything , but i was there as the animals were shot and immediatly gutted... I was parked at the end of the line of shooters so i was lucky to be very close to the animals that got away...having a full grown wild boar hurtle past you is an interesting experiance , i sat in the car after this...they can be very dangerous if you get in their way...

Anyways my objection was not to the hunting itself just the fact that they are doing it on my land , and close to my home... lets not kid ourselves , these people are not doing it to feed their hungry children , they are doing it because they like killing things , and they are not too fussy about what they kill...! there have been numerous incidents around here with hunters killing dogs , they are of course allowed to kill any dog without a collar thats not near a home , so of course the dog loses its collar after being shot , and is dragged away from any houses... The guy who was on my land last night with a gun was in a new and expensive car , so for sure he is not hunting any animal to feed his kids... my biggest worry is that i find one of my cats shot by these people , they are not simply farm cats , they are my much loved pets , and having one shot would for sure make me lose my sense of humour...

Hey , Warszawski , i think i know that guy you saw on the vintage sidecar wearing a German helmet , he is actually a Swiss guy , but lives in Poland , married to a Polish lady...The bike is a Swiss made Condor , not very many of them in the world , this guy has three of them...He and his wife just got back from a trip to Ukraine in an old Russian outfit...

Sobiesky...you said i have been going to Russia for two years , well not quite , i have known my Russian lady for two years , but only made the decision to move there to be with her a year ago , in fact a year ago exactly yesterday... It takes a long time to make such a move , and i have been hanging on here in the hope i can get the farm sold before i go , the guy who is buying it does not seem to see the matter as urgent as i do and drags things on a bit....For moving to Russia , getting married there and getting residency , a year is not so long time to take....You said the interview with the FSB ( ex KGB ) sounded a bit strange , well i was not kidding you about that , the FSB does not just deal with spying and the James bond type stuff , they deal with national security , and if a non Russian wants to be resident in Moscow , they are the people who may want to interview you to check you are not a threat to the security of the Russian federation... Why am i bothered about these silly wooden towers if i am going to Russia...? well if some beer drinking hunter puts a bullet through my head as i am walking in my garden at night....i won,t be going anywhere...!

Somebody said i was not wise to deal with this matter in my Englsh city way , as it could antagonise the locals...well , i have long since lost my English city ways , and fit in quite well among the Polish country folk....The first suggestion of trashing this tower came from a Polish friend of mine who like me lives in the country.... I have found out the hard way , that in the country its not a matter of upsetting the locals so much as showing that people can,t take the psss out of you... Around here , if you give em an inch , they will take 300 kms...!

is your land fenced in ? if not, it may be a simple mistake.

No...this area of my land is not fenced off firstly because i cannot afford to fence it , and secondly i allow one of my neighbours to drive his tractor over my land to get to his field for ploughing , saves him having to drive the long way round.... as you say , it could be simply that these hunters are not aware its private land , thats why i don,t want to do anything in haste untill i find out what the score is....

You asked a question.
You assumed what the answer would be and then you gave him shhit for your own answer to your own question. How many of you live in your brain?

Even if he is not a vegetarian, he clearly stated he would not shoot any wild animal. Your attitude is like stating that someone who is not into blond women is double faced when he screws a brunette

I did not know what the answer would be and that is why I asked the question.

Your opinion means nothing to me.
