Ha.. a lot of usefull information from you peeps and some very funny suggestions as to what to do about this carbuncle on my land....
To answer a few points made...
Hythorn , you asked if i was a veggie , and said if not then i was having double standards in that i was prepared to eat meat but objected to people killing it on my behalf...
No i am not vegetarian , i like hamburgers too much , and i am not against animals being killed for food as long as they are treated well and killed in a humane way... I did say also that i am not against hunting , even if its done for sport , all i said was that i personally would not wish to shoot a wild animal just so i can put its head on my wall... I am not squemish about hunting , i was part of a hunt a few years back , but only as a driver for the hunters , i did not kill anything , but i was there as the animals were shot and immediatly gutted... I was parked at the end of the line of shooters so i was lucky to be very close to the animals that got away...having a full grown wild boar hurtle past you is an interesting experiance , i sat in the car after this...they can be very dangerous if you get in their way...
Anyways my objection was not to the hunting itself just the fact that they are doing it on my land , and close to my home... lets not kid ourselves , these people are not doing it to feed their hungry children , they are doing it because they like killing things , and they are not too fussy about what they kill...! there have been numerous incidents around here with hunters killing dogs , they are of course allowed to kill any dog without a collar thats not near a home , so of course the dog loses its collar after being shot , and is dragged away from any houses... The guy who was on my land last night with a gun was in a new and expensive car , so for sure he is not hunting any animal to feed his kids... my biggest worry is that i find one of my cats shot by these people , they are not simply farm cats , they are my much loved pets , and having one shot would for sure make me lose my sense of humour...
Hey , Warszawski , i think i know that guy you saw on the vintage sidecar wearing a German helmet , he is actually a Swiss guy , but lives in Poland , married to a Polish lady...The bike is a Swiss made Condor , not very many of them in the world , this guy has three of them...He and his wife just got back from a trip to Ukraine in an old Russian outfit...
Sobiesky...you said i have been going to Russia for two years , well not quite , i have known my Russian lady for two years , but only made the decision to move there to be with her a year ago , in fact a year ago exactly yesterday... It takes a long time to make such a move , and i have been hanging on here in the hope i can get the farm sold before i go , the guy who is buying it does not seem to see the matter as urgent as i do and drags things on a bit....For moving to Russia , getting married there and getting residency , a year is not so long time to take....You said the interview with the FSB ( ex KGB ) sounded a bit strange , well i was not kidding you about that , the FSB does not just deal with spying and the James bond type stuff , they deal with national security , and if a non Russian wants to be resident in Moscow , they are the people who may want to interview you to check you are not a threat to the security of the Russian federation... Why am i bothered about these silly wooden towers if i am going to Russia...? well if some beer drinking hunter puts a bullet through my head as i am walking in my garden at night....i won,t be going anywhere...!
Somebody said i was not wise to deal with this matter in my Englsh city way , as it could antagonise the locals...well , i have long since lost my English city ways , and fit in quite well among the Polish country folk....The first suggestion of trashing this tower came from a Polish friend of mine who like me lives in the country.... I have found out the hard way , that in the country its not a matter of upsetting the locals so much as showing that people can,t take the psss out of you... Around here , if you give em an inch , they will take 300 kms...!
is your land fenced in ? if not, it may be a simple mistake.
No...this area of my land is not fenced off firstly because i cannot afford to fence it , and secondly i allow one of my neighbours to drive his tractor over my land to get to his field for ploughing , saves him having to drive the long way round.... as you say , it could be simply that these hunters are not aware its private land , thats why i don,t want to do anything in haste untill i find out what the score is....
