Oh, d*** + s****: it's one of first threads that is quite unreadable for me.
I don't know but to have fun is only one of possible options. The other - maybe to smoke? To run naked could be a good idea too.

It depends on the area you will be on.

Actually I believe its 150 meters not 300 meters.

We are not irresponsible owners as my daughters dog was on my land and the forest is owned by myself. I don't know where you get that PC comment about that farmers are compensated, yes the procedure is there but you try getting the compensation as it takes months and is hardly worth the bother by the end of it and many people just give up on the process.

Hunters in this country are an elitist bunch who think they can do what they please and go under the guise of protecting the wildlife... yeah they do, so they can shoot it!

In the Bieszczady mountains there was a survey on the wolf population there and they set out all along the border camp sites to count the wolf population, one day they would see six the next day eight and so on. After one month they came to a figure of just over 1500, but the count was flawed as they didnt take into account that many of these wolves were crossing the border to and fro.

Guess who did the survey? Polski Związek £owiecki (The hunting assosiation of Poland), and immediately they received this figure they applied for a hunting licence to cull the wolves by 400.

They were so confident that they would receive this licence that they started advertising for shooting trips to the Bieszczady mountains...

Luckily this was rejected as a University was conducting a more detailed survey and found the correct number to be 700-800 wolves. So if this survey had not been done over 50% of the wolves in this region would have wiped out.

I am not sqeamish about killing animals .

You are a hypocrite. Its very easy to decide that your eating of a hamburger is no way connected to the ****** life and terrorfying death of of a pig or cow, especially if you are brought up in the supermarket society.

You obviously have killed many animals for fun as eating meat is an optional, pleasurable, pastime. Just because you didn't witness its death doesn't excempt you from responsibility.

I stopped eating meat for 10 years becuase I didn't want anything to do with the factory farming process and because I don't particulary like meat.

I have no problem with hunting however; its honest. You kill and eat the food and can see the whole disgusting process, the animals have a completly natural existance, abeit with assistance to help them through winter. Hunters don't just hunt for trophies in Poland, the food is the main reason - its good quality.

I decide a long time ago that I would put my money where my mouth is - for instance I scaled, defined, gutted and filleted fish. I have gone along with hunts and will help prepare the meat. I may not actually eat it, but I accept that men are carnivores and we have hunted and eaten meat for millions of years. Snotty nosed attitudes like yours are one of the reasons I like Poland more than the UK, for too many British peopel think meat comes form a plastic container.

Hunters in this country are an elitist bunch who think they can do what they please and go under the guise of protecting the wildlife... yeah they do, so they can shoot it!

Hunters manage wildlife so that they can hunt it. Much like other farmers, its a food source that is given freer range and its a very expensive way of producing food but its a hell of a lot better than factory farming which is rife in Poland. Polish pig farms are some of the worse in the world.

Hunters maybe elitist, but thats the law unfortunaly. It very difficult to get a license and thats a good thing. Problem, is they are desperate for more hunters as its so damn expensive and difficult to get into - its taken my brother in law many years to get his license and that with his father being the hunt master. Personally i cannot see that its worth all the effort.

Hunters manage wildlife so that they can hunt it.

You keep on believing that if it makes you happy, but after living here for 12 years, I think I know a little bit more about it than you do. Yes, that is the common misconception that hunters manage wildlife, when in truth they do more harm than good.

Have you ever seen a group of them blanket shooting across a field, because I have seen them shooting anything that dares to raise its head no matter what size or type of animal.

One good thing though, the level of ground contamination from the Chernobyl disaster is having a long-term effect on aging hunters who have eaten free range meet over many years in certain areas.

As the contamination in the soil where the animals live in the forests has been left untouched and this soil the animals graze on, and guess what, the hunters graze on the animals, saturating their bodies with more than acceptable levels of radiation. Whoops!

Yes it would be a terrible tragedy if some animal was killed by a dog , before somebody with a small penis was able to shoot it...!

See that girls...guys with small penises are good shots!

As somebody who has been a driver for these hunters i can tell you that they do not have to be a good shot....The hunters stand some distance apart , while others with dogs drive the deer , foxes and wild boar towards the hunters... Most of the animals are killed at a distance that requires no shooting skills whatsoever...This is not a case of skilled marksmen stalking their animals and using hunting skills , its like shooting rats in a barrel...

Hunter are not allowed to have a particular advantage; powerful telescopic sights, lying down to to shoot, shooting from a vehicle are all banned. Shooting standing up makes it very difficult to hit the target, which is the point. I've accompanied hunts about half a dozen times and hunters miss the vast majority of the time. Hunting is not about anillihating everything in site.

Your wife has bullied you into this hasn,t she...?

I was hoping you could provide me an argument as to why you are better than a hunter eating meat killed from the wild rather than a slaughter house. Ok, I'm fine with silly vegatarian/small penis comments. Hypercritical meat eaters are idiots anyway.

Have you ever seen a group of them blanket shooting across a field, because I have seen them shooting anything that dares to raise its head no matter what size or type of animal.

Nope, becuase its obviously impossible to know what everyone is shooting at unless you are next to every hunter - which is impossible. Shot size is also different for differant game and the kill range with a shot gun is 25 meters so shooting 'everything' is impossible and extreemly unlikely are they miss what they are hunting 75% of the time even when its in range. Conclusion; you are talking crap. You don't like hunters for personal reason, why don't you move to a city where it won't be a problem?

I was raised on farms in the UK and first picked up my first gun when I was ten years old it was a 4/10.

One of the lessons my father taught me was to only shoot what you can eat, and being raised on the Pevensey marshes in East Sussex we had many opportunities to shoot as many ducks as we could - but we ONLY took two or three for the pot and from there I developed a love for shooting and a respect for wildlife.

I moved on to clay pigeon shooting and partnered George Digweed in the South of England Championships in 1991 representing Diamond Guns of Heathfield, East Sussex, unfortunately we only came sixth, but George went on to become World and European Sporting Champion.

I have been involved with Charlie Hudson and John Jefferies gunsmiths from Diamond Guns, in the development of the 12 Bore White Diamond 30" and Classic Diamond 31" multi-choke shotguns, based on the Beretta Silver Pigeon S.

So peterweg, I do know what I am talking about and it is you who are talking crap.

I fail to see how any of that is relevant, in fact you must be damn well aware that your comment that they shoot everything in sight is ********. And are you claiming that hunters shoot food and throw it away? Thats ridiculous, especialy given the fee's they have to pay to do shoot it and its high value.

I am well aware of all the noble reasons for hunting , but lets not kid ourselves here...these people hunt because they like killing things....

You think so? I don't like the idea of killing something at all, but I've come to accept that its a fact of life if you eat meat. There has been a lot of discussion about the sourcing of food in the Uk that hopefully makes people more understanding of the consequences of their eating. For instance the series where they slaughtered various animals and then fed the studio audiences with the result was illuminating.

Do you kill and eat your own animals, chickens for instance? It might be a good idea to try it.

Getting back to topic, if you want to keep apple theieves and hunters away, put up a fence and a sign telling people to keep out. I'm surprised nobody told you this before.

You know, it rather amuses me to think you know about a situation here in Poland stuck in some office in London fiddling about with computers.

Do you kill and eat your own animals

I repeat what i said before...i personally do not wish to kill something just for fun....

Killing something to eat it is a different matter , and if was hungry i would have no worries about doing it....

However , i don,t need to kill anything to eat , as there are plenty of others more than willing to kill any meat i eat....

I did not say i was against hunting , just that i do not wish to do it , and that i am not exactly happy that beer swilling buraks with high powered rifles can wander freely on my land shooting anything that moves , dogs , cats , and people if you are silly enough to walk on your own land when they are around..

Hmm, I live in Poland and have done for a year. I also go on hunts to learn what goes on, the fact is neither you nor I have any influence on what happens in this country. I prefer to accept that they have differant attitudes here and live with it, you are bringing your opinions from the UK, whereas I have dropped mine.

Pmsl, that has just nearly me wet myself lol
I love it when new people come to the country and say that, as it always makes me giggle, and I will be watching your posts just as a gentle reminder. Mind you going by some of the past ones even your statement above seems quiet hypocritical.

TBH after 12 years of being here I would not even know where to start in the UK anymore, because I have become so polanised that I pizz vodka and zhit pierogi.

I have even passed time in the old village game of sitting on a bench with my neighbour at the bottom of his garden by the road, drinking a bottle of beer and watching the cars go by.

I love Polish life; I love the countryside I own as I have worked hard for this. I just do not like pompous twats swooning around thinking they own the place and can do whatever they like, and believe me, after you have lived here a little bit more and understand Polish people, you will feel the same. That is, if your arrogance allows it :)

I hunt. In order to shoot game you have to be a good shot. It just looks easy to you.

There are two types of hunters, meat hunters (me) and shooters. Meat hunters are self explanatory. Shooters like to shoot game because they look at game as a more challenging target than a standing target. No one likes to kill, but a guy has to eat. When you eat vegetables you have to kill the plants, it's no different. Farming isn't a benevolent activity. Plowing the ground or using chemicals with No-Till kills wildlife too, but a guys gotta eat.

At last you realise lol

No, to be serous for a second, my main grief is that as a parent I cannot feel safe with my daughter and her friends going off and playing on our land, especially the forest which we have spent a lot of time on clearing it for a later date turning into a paintball centre. I agree there are good hunters and bad hunters; it is just in my experience and many of the people that I know, they have been bad hunters.

I drive a Prius and think eating meat is wrong, I then call people who eat meat and don't drive priuses uneducated and also like to feel like a rebel against the corporations. Global warming will kill us all in the next week or so and by not eating meat i'm actually single handedly saving the planet from a phenomenon that may or may not exist. If people continue to eat meat then they are just feeding the corporate machine which will kill us all. Vegetarianism is the way forward and you just can't beat a good nut and tofu steak as its one of the most masculine foods.

At the same time defecating into a bucket and sniffing it also helps increase testosterone levels.

Vegetarianism is the way forward and you just can't beat a good nut and tofu steak as its one of the most masculine foods.

If you really want to be environmentally friendly, the only way to eat is the way God and/or evolution designed the human species to eat: wander in the woods, kill and eat animals, and forage for fruits, grubs and roots. Anything other than this is artificial, including modern vegetarianism with its dependence on commercial farming (fertilizers, high water use, land destruction) and the supplement industry. By all means we should all try to eat as healthy a diet as possible and minimize waste but the last thing we need are advocates preaching to replace one unnatural lifestyle by another equally unnatural one to fulfill their agenda.

It's an incredibly destructive cycle. We have managed to create an excess amount of food using very destructive techniques which has led to a population boom which leads to even more farming of plants and animals. The circle keeps feeding itself and getting bigger and bigger...
