Hi. I have left last week and switched off gas heating in apartment I am renting. And it caused water break in one of pipes. Well I thought that It will be dangerous to leave gas heater while I am away, but seems switching it off also causes problems. Here is the question does deposit cover this case or I should reimburse other costs. I feel like landlord might charge a lot more.

I think it has more to do with your landlord and your agreement, then with polish law. From my practical experience I would say it's almost always cheaper if you organise the repair. Especially if the landlord is a douche and demands 3* the real cost - good luck in fighting such thing in polish court (terrible and long experience). Anyway, I would check if you really were the cause of the water break.
