What do you pay in rent/mortgage in Poland?

Inspired by another thread, I'm asking a simple question:

Where do you live and what is your rent or mortgage payment?

Maybe add in czynsz/utilities as well, just so we can compare.

Oh, and we'd all love to hear from those of you that do NOT pay any rent/mortgage. If you post but do not tell us what you pay, we'll just assume you live for free.

..is all that we pay, its about 450pln per month. Mostly the building repair fund (outside to be re-clad next year).

Hopefully iy will reduce the heating which is most of the rest of the bill.

i used to pay 1300 PLN (excluding bills) in Klecina, South Wroclaw for about 80 m2 in 2006, then i bought a house outright and lived there with no mortgage.

I kinda figured this thread would have these results.

All this talk about "cost of living in Poland" yet nobody wants to say what they pay......or don't pay.

4500 pln per month plus utilities- averaged about 800 pln per month. less in summer more in winter.

we live in Warsaw.

PLN 1.500 a month for 67m2, PLN 220 a month for water, electricity, etc.

ok- but it is a loaded question. I was hesitant because I don't want to appear as though I am bragging about it. I can give more details if necessary- personally- I think the cost of living is low in Poland and so did my Canadian friends who just went back after spending three weeks here. They loaded up their suitcases because they were able to get nice things cheap. Old Navy and Gap stuff will always be cheaper in Canada but things like dress clothes are very well priced here.

here is a stark contrast, i used to rent a house in Wroclaw for 4800 PLN a month and another out in the country with sitting tennents for 100 PLN, the house in Wroclaw was much nicer but never the less you get the idea..

as i previously stated, you didn't answer, so:

pip = lives rent/mortgage free.

Same here. My mortgage in Riverside, California is merely $450.00 per month. Includes principal, interest, taxes and insurance :)

Utilities may vary during different seasons. Such as today, I've been cranking up the air...

I liked it when he said he never knew something like 3 Americans in Wroclaw after living there for so many years, I'd met more than that (all resident) in one single night drinking in the Guiness bar. The power of BS is amazing.

for rent, yeah, that's very low for California.

If I had hung out at expat bars like Guinness, sure, I would have met more. but i didn't. i didn't go to poland to hang out with americans.

Maybe he isn't a sad git who has to hang around with expats. I've never met any English or American residents here either.


This also help explains how Poles can work for little money. Now the new roads are being/have been built they will be able to travel further for work.

Haven't you figured out yet that Fuzzy had a hard life in Poland and is desperately trying to prove to himself that it's the country that failed him, not himself?

Heck, the poor man didn't even know about the existence of drive through restaurants, which tells you about how much he actually got around.

I'm surprised you even posted, you must have known I'd bring that up, it was never something you liked to freely admit. I guess with lindenia being a complete failure, somebody had to cover the nut.

Now you have a house, I presume? Care to share with the class what your mortgage payments are? That would be more on topic.

right, or, I spent most of my time in the center of Wroclaw where I lived and worked, and when I traveled outside of Wroclaw, I steered clear of fast food joints.

Anyway, 389.67zl czynsz plus 92.84zl electricity and 35.05zl gas is what I paid this month. Plus £40 for Sky TV (with the full sports package). In theory I could reduce those amounts by off-setting a percentage of them against my taxable income as costs of running my company; but as I rarely work at home, I don't think it would be ethical of me to do that.

I was careful to make sure you haven't already posted your rent/mortgage, I didn't see it. So....rent/mortgage free?

Same here... Small flat in Warsaw. Not really income generating because my cousin lives there (after some problems with tenants) and she can't afford much, but completely mortgage free.

Monthy levvies are around 320 zl (czynsz, maintenance fee, water), electricity around 150 zl (no gas), Internet I think 80 zl (not sure about speed, but no cap).

Actually, this thread would be more interesting if people stated the circumstances with which they acquired their homes.

Was it given to you?

Did you buy it yourself and currently pay the full mortgage?

Did you get/are you getting help from family for your house?

I guess it doesn't say much if you don't know where the money came/comes from. If someone says "the mortgage is paid off" there's no telling how that came to be.
