Hi. hope i got the right section. Does anyone know what are the limitations around hours for a building site to be active and .essentially, making noise which would affect local housing?

thanks,
vincent

Thanks. It is actually a big building site i.e. new apartments just on a site next to existing partments.

The best you can do is ask your landlord for a discount on the rent or just move out. The developer will have deeper pockets than you and will most likely have reached an agreement with the building owners around the development. In other words everyone has bee paid off so just suffer or move.

if u have after hours noise:

the building is behind schedule

it's workies making extra cash by working their second job of the day

it's people moving in and having the place fitted out.

either talk to the site manager or phone/write to the local authority

In the UK, building works involving any noise near residential areas is limited from 07:30 until 18:00 on weekdays and 07:30 until 13:00 on Saturdays. No Sunday working is allowed and the local authourities will close the site if these hours are breeched. There are exceptions for the utility services such as repairs to highways which are busy in normal hours and emergency repairs to gas/electrical/water services.

Weekend Noise Laws in Poland - Construction?

Hello

Is construction noise allowed at the weekends from 6:00-22:00 just like Monday-Friday?

In the flats next to mine there is a huge renovation project going on where they work 7 days a week. 5 days a week is already too much, but they drill and bang on the walls all day every weekend too starting at 6:30 or 7:00am.

I can't find anything about weekend rules for "Cisza nocna".

Thank you.

It's the same at the weekend. You can just try talking to them.

Those laws are not likely to be affected by the Sunday trading ban, are they? So you have a government that wants families to spend Sundays together, unless one of them works in construction and those families who ARE together on Sundays can't go shopping but can have their 'quality time' disturbed all day by noise from a building site..............

I doubt it somehow - the interference with shopping hours doesn't affect their rural voters, whereas something about building work would. And of course the core PiS vote live in the sticks rather than apartments in the city.

In any case, the PiS mentality is that people shouldn't be at home on Sunday morning...
