I've also read some comment saying Osiedle Tysiąclecia is a nice area
Well, I wouldn't say it's the nicest, but it's got loads of advantages; huge park beside it....some say it's the biggest city park in Europe, but I don't know if that's true, it has a zoo, loads of pubs and restaurants and cycle paths, there's even a gondola, massive stadium (unfinished) too
Biggest shopping centre in southern Poland on your doorstep too and loads of public transport at your disposal
Tysiąclecia itself has loads of shops, a few supermarkets and small businesses too, things like chemists, hairdressers, the usual local stuff
Koszutka is fine too, you're closer to the city and can take buses/trams to Chorzow every day easily. I used to do that, takes about 30mins to Chorzow on tram, buses can be tricky depending on time of day, they can take 20 minutes or up to an hour depending on traffic; not as many conveniences as Tysiąclecia, but you're closer to town so there's that.
If I was working in Chrozow, I'd go for Tysiąclecia, it's still pretty close to Kato, and if you wanna stay in Kato later for a few pints at night it's serviced by late trams and buses too, or just get a bicycle, cold weather doesn't really hit until January (for the last few years anyway)
