As far as I know, it's basically a consequence of Sweden accepting people from Bosnia during the war and also their long history of accepting Yugoslavs before that. A lot of blood feuds were exported to Sweden, and Sweden was also a hotbed of Croat nationalism during the 70's and 80's from what I remember.
Still, you're still far more likely to be killed or maimed on Polish roads at the hands of a Polish driver than you are to be killed or mamed by a hand grenade in Sweden.
