Who in here yesterday said Lithuania is worse than Poland?

I remember reading some hogwash like this yesterday from one of the sexpats on here. Fact, is you should go to Lithuania and see for yourself, I did last year and it is a beautiful country with a lot nicer houses and people driving nicer cars in Vilnus than even Warsaw. I also double checked the GDP comparison and their gdp is p[ossibly higher or on a similar level to Poland's. So whoever is trying to spread some propaganda on here, jsut stop before you get ahead of yourself.

that could be an effect of greater stratfication (the richer are richer and the poor are poorer).

I've only been in Lithuania once for a couple of days a few years ago (flew into Vilnius train to Kaunas and back) the cities seemed broadly comparable to Poland (maybe a half-notch behind) but the countryside... it was very pretty but most of the houses looked oooollllddd and like they'd fall down if you breathed on them too hard. I think there's probably a similar gap between cities and the countryside as in Poland, maybe a bit more extreme.

Kaunas was okay but in terms of service was mostly like Poland over 10 years ago, very curt and uninterested in customers....

Life isnt better in Poland than Lithuania. Fact is they have euros there and life over there is comparable to europe as you can buy the same ammount there as you pay in say Germany. Life in Lithuania is much more comparable to germany than Poland as a result. Poland is full of catholic liers and two faced thieves. Every service you order in Poland they want to rip you off or get some cover fee. ANd if you order in Poland say a plumber, they end up showing up drunk most of the time. Lithuania is actually a civilized country. If you go to a bar or restaurant in Lithuania, you do not have to worry about being ripped off or get the wrong change back like in Poland or have them threaten you. Go to that irish pub in old town and compare that to any pub in Lithuania. DIfferent world bro. ANd yea they drive betetr cars.

Maybe they have a different stratification between rurla and urban but have you seen this Poland B video? That is worse than anything you can find in Lithuania:

youtu.be/xyaELQzljdg

Still, they have no Praga district or ghetto looking thieves walking around in Vilnius.

. If you go to a bar or restaurant in Lithuania

I was in Kaunas for a meeting and at night we went out to eat. After waiting almost an hour (and repeated queries) they finally said there were problems in the kitchen and we left and at the second place they first forgot about us and then got half the orders wrong... so I'm skeptical.

. Go to that irish pub in old town

Why would anyone sane want to do that?

Well thats the place where I had one bar tender give me the wrong change with a wink or smile when I asked for the right ammount back than try to get threatening with me once when i had a card and not cash on me and another one who I wanted to fight and posted in here and hoped to catch on a cigarette break because he wanted special treatment or have me ask please to him rather than can I have a beer. They expect super special treatment and enjoy ripping people off in there. Plus half the people are retards in ther bumping everyone in their way that deserve a neck grab or choke like from the beginning of one of those netflix vikings or knight movies in the pub scene.

Poland is full of catholic liers and two faced thieves.

Maf,the guy is a troll.
I have had Lithuanians working for me and they told me how poor Lithuania is.
And a quick internet search will tell you the same.
There is not much work, pay is slightly less and prices higher than Poland, so quality of life is poorer.

I have been there for work many times - my view is that the 3 big towns are not as rich as big Polish towns, but the countryside is richer and nicer than Poland. Depopulation is a huge issue though - about 20 percent of people left since 91, you can drive through some ghost villages.

I have never visited Lithuania but read that their life standard is more or less the same as in Poland. The only thing that makes difference is prices of groceries. Lithuanians prefer to do shopping in Polish discount chains like Biedronka rather than at home.

Cost of almost everything in Lithuania is higher than Poland, salaries are slightly lower and there is very little work.
Countryside is beautiful but often empty of humans.Cities are not as advanced as Polish.
The OP has gone now and was probably a troll.

All because the złoty has been artificially devalued. If the złoty was at a more realistic exchange rate - that is, about 3.5 to 1 Euro - then this wouldn't happen.

If the złoty was at a more realistic exchange rate

Still not enough.
The disparity in prices is larger than that.
