Hello Ania, That is a big move, you must be very excited.

I found this on the net Polish expatriates in India and Polacy w Indiach.
Also you could contact the Polish Embassy in India and even the Indian Embassy in Poland as they should know people in the same place as you will be in and might even organise get togethers. I hope that helps.

Best of luck!

I am moving to New Delhi to settle down over there...

Have you been before ?

I'm British rather than Polish, but New Delhi is a real baptism of fiire for a first trip to India and if you're planning on living there too, then there will be even more to get used too.

What will you be doing there ?

Have fun, Ania. It sounds really exciting.

From a British point of view, I have comic images of lots of Indians complaining,
"Oh no, the Polish are coming over here, taking our jobs and women and setting up corner shops and restaurants everywhere!"

(This is what was said when they, Indians, first came to Britain)

Thanks tervel for your good luck wishes... well i can imagine what some british ppl (although i do not wanna make any generalisations) think about polish ones... and also i do not think so that in very close future almost have of poland will emigrate to india as they did to england ;)

cheers,

nobody is going to force you to do so... and i am sick of ppl who can only judge others but have not experienced the culture in its origin.... i am not going to make a judgement about you either but just mind your words.. world would be so boring if everybody is the same looks the same and behave the same way ... what really makes travelling interesting its diversity of that planet... thanks God they are still ppl who can understand this..

You very welcome anakanka,

And don't mind some of the others, they are just trying to illicit a response.

With your healthy attitude, I am sure you will have a great life there.

I am Irish and I live in Poland, for now, I enjoy it here.

Have you learned any Hindi?, I am not exactly sure what the main language is in New Delhi?
I just looked at it in Wiki, the temples look wonderful.

I am just wondering. What is the cost of living in New Delhi? Cost of rents, food, transportation, etc.

Hi,

We are an animation production company in delhi and have our studios in Poland as well. We need Polish translators to help our colleagues who come from Poland frequently to visit our studio here. They need help with the language as most of them don't speak English. Is anyone interested in doing part-time job with us? Please let us know. write to us at info@tigerbells.com

cheers

@ anakanka:
Sounds interesting, and good wishes to you; but don't hang around Paharganj too long. If you don't want to be ripped off all the time like I was in Poland, the question would be 'kya, tum Hindi malum?'.
