German police aggresively manhandle Polish citizens?

Just read in today's >>Nowy Dziennik<< that German police allegedly beat several Polish visitors while the latter were visiting Germany.

Any truth to the allegations reported?

Please don't start threads like this, without a link.

I can't imagine it happened but if it did, then definitely not because they were Polish.

They can be quite heavy handed in certain German cities, especially with immigrants congregating in the city centre.

Though we'd need to know a lot more than just the details the OP gave.

Nowy Dziennik? Aren't they the peeps who were reporting about how the BBC has a vicious anti-Polish slant as exemplified by a number BBC journalists, such as Giles Coren? Guess the story must be 100% true then.

My guess is that he's talking about this article: dziennik.com/wiadomosci/artykul/niemiecka-policja-pobila-polakow

I can only presume they were molesting German women. The right-wing Polish press made such claims about Mexican sailors in Gdynia. Hard to feel much sympathy.

Still they were not attacked by the Polish Police.

Apparently the German police are now admitting it was a case of mistaken identity but that the Poles were aggressive to them.

Of course Polish police would never do anything along the lines of aggressively manhandling Polish citizens and therefore this must be an example of the German police targeting Poles:

Anti-terror police in Lodz lobbed stun grenades into a flat before storming it - only to realise they'd got the wrong address.

Two innocent people have been left injured after allegedly being brutally attacked by anti-terrorist police in Katowice.
According to reports on TVN24, authorities broke into the pair's flat whilst looking for another man, leaving the 24-year-old woman with a broken tooth and the 40-year-old man with bruises and a broken nose.

Officers from Poznan's Central Office of Investigation (CBS) have had to apologise again after they arrested the wrong man, the latest in a line of incidents where bungling cops have barged into the wrong flat. This time, their victim was a severely disabled 24-year-old man, left bruised and clinging to his mother by the affair.
The stories of the two sides differ, though. While admitting that police made a mistake and apologising, police spokesperson Andrzej Borowiak maintained that officers reacted to the man's strange behaviour and that they didn't break down any doors. The man's mother, though, showed reporters the splintered front door, and asked them rhetorically, "So, I did that myself?"

Oh, maybe not.

Do you have any examples of the Polish Police aggressively manhandling random foreigners in Poland? Because only that would be relevant here.

There was that Nigerian who was shot dead for selling shoes. The policemen who did that faced no charges and weren't even suspended from duty.

Although the point is that all police forces make mistakes. Mostly the victims of those mistakes are citizens of that same nation, sometimes they aren't.

Seems that these people were distributors of counterfeit money. Their cars were stopped by police and the men inside became extremely aggressive when the cops tried to arrest them, even crashed into a police car while trying to get away. So it looks as if the Polish government demands a thorough investigation why some of their country's criminals were "assaulted".

Allegedly.

I'm not sure that it is any more. I see sources quoting the German police as saying that the two men were mistaken for counterfeiters.

Allegedly.

Yes, sorry. Innocent until proven guilty, of course.

Police everywhere often tend to over- rather than under (let alone just plain ol') react. They also can be a bit on the alarmist side, by no means only in Germany. They wouldn't be heroes otherwise:-)
