Work in the US or in the UK? Moving out of Poland.

Hello. I'm thinking about moving from Poland to an English speaking country - and the first ones that come to my mind are the US and the UK (suggest other countries if you like). About me: bachelor's degree in education, worked with socially maladjusted people (not sure if it is the correct term for that kind of behavior, though), worked with mentally challenged adults and recently I was a cop in a rural town (resigned because of the "bad blood" in the precinct). I think my English is quite good, got this CAE certificate last year. I'm in my late 20's, got no debts or any commitments that would hold me back. I even got a little savings too but I guess it's not much (I give you the number if you would tell me if that would be enough for a "fresh start" in a new country).

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help!

I'd suggest Australia, ccs. I hear Sidney for example is bursting with business opportunities, just the place for young, enterprising type.
They also have a sizable Polish community in many major cities and so you'll should feel right at home:-)

Thinking or considering?
IF you are really into it. Start looking for a job or opportunities offered. MOVING doesn't really cut it.

The US and the UK are two very different cultures. The only thing they really have in common is the English language. Are you drawn to one more than the other? On the practical side, the UK is a much easier move for you. You don't need a work permit or visa, just hop on the plane. Also there is a system in place of virtually automatic recognition of educational qualifications, the European Framework of Qualifications which simplfies the process of showing that you're qualified to do a similar job in the UK.

Even with the whole Brexit thing it would be easier (and certainly quicker) for you to go to the UK than America. Loads of jobs in your kind of work as well but not always that well paid. Plenty to browse through here:

And as Ironside said, look for a job first, don't just move on the off-chance and blow all your savings.
Best of luck :)

I completely agree with Atch, but I would also add from experience that due to the cheaper cost of living in the US, food, fuel, real estate, salaries are lower than in the the UK, so if you plan a move back to Europe you will find that your US earnings will in no way compare to what you could have made in the UK for instance.

If you got paid 100,000 dollar salary in the US, the UK equivalent for the same job would be 100,000 pounds.

The US does not make it easy to come to. They will want you to have some kind of sponsor.

Better get to the UK before March 31st then, if that's a plan? Unless you enjoy reapplying for right of stay that is.
