Good joke! :)
...no joke :)
Is this true? Where is this rock?
1775: the Polish astronomer and cartographer Szymon Sobiekrajski declared the Polish city of Suchowola (53°34′36″N, 23°6′6″E) to be the geographic centre of Europe.
A large rock still marks the designated spot.
Suchowola
But check this page too
...Astronomer Kopernicus told the world we revolve around the sun.
...Astronomer Sobiekrajski told the world Suchowola is central Europe.
Sobiekrajski was the first declaration. The others all came after and could not accept that this
sh**ty little town in God forsaken Poland was in central Europe.
German Empire geographers did their own geographic analysis at the beginning of the 1900s and concluded that the Austrian measurements were incorrect. The German scientists stated that the true geographic centre of Europe was in the Saxon capital city of Dresden, near the Frauenkirche.
Well..Dresden as capital is nice too! :)
...notice they do to even acknowledge the Astronomer Sobiekrajski. They don't say he was wrong - because
they just can't take it. The Austrians are much more worthy apponents to discount. Also, it had to be
Dresden - the culture capital - becuause no little sh**ty town in middle of knowere would be GOOD enough! Lol.
It is a beautiful city.
...at night
Yup! Thank you :)
...fraud - all ya good for
To finish:-
Suchowola - centre of Europe.
Any other monuments for other claims?
