The government has completed work on a bill to rebuild Poland's shipping and ship-building industries, Prime Minister Beata Szydło said in the port city of Szczecin where she was attendign a Maritime Congress. Szydło said that a blueprint proposed by Maritime EconomyMinister Marek Gróbarczyk would help create thousands of jobs and help Poland's ship-building industry become a major player in the international arena. Poland had been one of Europe's leading ship-builders but fell on hard times during the world economic crisis and as a result of the previous government's inabiltiy or lack of interest in remedying the situation. Tusk had solemnly assured Poles he had secureds the support of unnamed wealthy Arab investors but that assurance never materialised.

You're probably correct if referring to "many people" in your psarticular marginal niche group. But you get eccentrics and weirdos like that in every country so there's nothing to worry about.

Sorry, Po, I don't have one of those.

Indeed, they will rank lower-case jon amongst them. BTW PF are highly untypical of Poland's heartbeat. Nowhere else is the concentration of lefty-libertine loons as disproprotionately high.

There you go again.

As well you know, the issue with Stocznia Szczecinska is ongoing - since PiS botched it dramatically last time they were briefly in office and made the situation there deteriorate Szydlo and her people are going to have a very hard time convincing anyone that anything has changed.

Unlike the money collected by a certain monk notes for his anti-Semitism and choices of car. That monk collected millions from his gullible supporters (few of whom have anything to spare) to 'save the shipyards' but then spent the money on other things, such as a Maybach.

and help Poland's ship-building industry become a major player in the international arena.

Poland already is a major player. The problem is that PiS have dreams of Poland producing large ships again, when experience tells us that Poland's strength is in producing smaller boats that are in huge demand.

PiS are just making their grand declarations again while being desperately short on substance. They simply don't have the money to invest into shipyards and all the rest of it - they'll pretend that it's available, there'll be some token investments, then silence. Of course, PiS will start printing money sooner rather than later, which will help to pay for this at the expense of the savings of ordinary Poles. Economic ruin soon follows, as Serbia in the 1990's showed.

I will. Ridiculous hyperbole. If we talk refitting, or smaller/ specialist builds, then we are in business. Trojmiasto has had amazing growth in contractors and maritime engineering - but the shipyards as they were are dead in the water - as per Clydebank in Scotland.

More PIS nonsense.

Take a head count. The advocates of a libertine agenda -- pro-abortionists, LGBT types, anticlericals, advocates of recreational drugs, etc. -- constitute but a small fraction of Polish society. But they seem to predominate on PF, showing that the forum is hardly representative of Polish public opinion. Instead it typifies Anglo-expat opinions and biases.

Maybach

Father Director said he didn't even know what a Maybach was let alone own one. That is yet another bit of the black PR churned out by the forces of darkness: PO, KOD, Petru, toxic NGOs and compliant media.

small fraction of Polish society.

The huge majority of people here in shipbuilding land are solidly AGAINST Kaczynski Polonius - and that is a cast iron fact. I live here and all I hear on the street is the disdain for and fear of PIS.

And nobody will be fooled by this latest propaganda in an attempt to buy votes.
Stick to el topic please and less of the party political broadcast:)

Gdańsk is a personal PO stronghold of sorts (Wałęsa, Tusk, Krzywonos, Borusewicz et al) but, if I recall correctly, this time Pomerania and West Pomerania voted fro PiS.

they'll pretend that it's available

Just like Tusk solemnly pledged that wealthy sheiks were preapred to invest copious petrodollar in the yards, but that turned out to be so much BS. Incidentally, no-one recalls you protesting or criticising the scamster govt over that? Biased, are we?

bombing

They bombed themselves out of office by their 8 years of misrule, mismanagement and outright theft. Mention could be made of the OFE heist in broad daylight to patch up their budget. In May and October 2015 the Polish nation showed the scmasters the red card and bid them farewell with a resounding GOOD RIDDANCE!.

This is very true - if JK and his cohorts think that even one shipyard worker believes Szydlo's speech (after all those broken PiS 'promises') he is deluded.

Anything is better now than enemies of Poland. We Polish like PiS, the one party that is patriotic and the more you criticise it Jewish boy the more of an enemy you are to Polish people, Jews are often anti-Polish, hateful, brainwashed bigots.

Most memebrs here are not Polish, only a handful of us are Polish and those of us who are side with PiS. You are a foreigner who is deliberately anti-Polish. You are Jewish, ungrateful, brainwashed Jew, your herd committed crimes against Slavic people and one day will answer for it. Your anti-Polish stand does not help you in any way.

So you're a PiS supporter than? At least we know what you think...

It still doesn't alter the fact that nobody believes the contents of Szydlo's speech about the shipyards which they similarly let down last time they were briefly in office.

So you're aPiS supporter than? At least we know what you think...

Your manipulative rat like ways do work on small brains only, you play on human stupidity by quoting my comments about Jews and then placing a PiS sticker next to them as my identity to show to small minds that PiS supporters dislike Jews, thus painting those supporters as negatively oriented towards Jewish community as the stereotype goes. You must be of the many intelligent folk here. You are an example as to why I can not let Jews run the agenda as I do not think that a stupid person should be dictating the rules to the smarter one. When I encounter yet another small minded Jew I think I am doing the right thing. Most PiS supporters actually respect Jews which I could not say about Jews reciprocating with the same sentiment. In fact Jews think we should be their slaves, check this video out anyone:

This is not at all unusual for online PiS supporters.

Most people here

Where is here? Some lefty libertine clique? Never forget that polls have shown PiS to be consistently at, above or just below the vote they got last October.

One can only imagine the love of yard workers for PO who made unkept pledges about alleged Arab investors and effectively rang the death knell for Poland's once proud and dynamic ship-building industry.

Which is more than the zero PiS have done for them.

Poland's once proud and dynamic ship-building industry.

The entire industry that was built on workers being treated badly (you were around, you should remember the complaints of the shipyard workers that they didn't even have basic safety equipment), built on cheap coal being extracted at huge human cost (again, you'll remember the shocking conditions that miners worked in!) and a huge amount of debt in order to produce the steel needed for the shipyards. The shipyards themselves were only viable as long as they could use cheap coal, cheap steel and cheap iron ore imports - all of which no longer exists.

There was nothing proud about shipbuilding in Poland - it was an industry that came at immense human cost. Poland is doing a fantastic job with producing smaller ships, and it should be encouraged as much as possible. But we don't need or want to return to the days of heavy shipbuilding.

It's PiSonomics, which means that the taxpayer will have to fund unprofitable shipyards so that they can provide plenty of non-jobs for people with no ambition.
