Poland's PM Beata Szydło, who presented the Visegrád Group's plan to renovate the EU, announced that the community's reforms were under way and came away with the view that that the EU officials and guests in attendance were agreeable. The proposals are to be translated into a road-map to be presented at the March EU summit in Rome. But Szydło maybe underestimating the guile of Old Europe's 's crafty politicos who may tone down their rhetoric without forsaking their dreams of a BBB -- Bureaucratic Brussels Behemoth. At the V4 summit German Chancellor Merkel prevailed upon the gathering to change their resolution to read "uncontrolled refugee traffic" rather than the original term "chaos" describing the results of her blanket invite to refugees.
PM Szydło calls V4 summit a success, may be underestimating Old Europe's guile
Szydło maybe underestimating the guile of Old Europe's 's crafty
Or just acknowledging that they do their job better than she does "hers"..,
do their job better
Yes, indeed, Old Europe's dogmatic elite did such a good job of bullying that they forced Britain to quit the communtiy. There has also been talk of Frexit and other copy-cat reactions. No-one has heard any apologies form the Junckers, Schultzes, Hollandes, Merkels and other Tusks, so who knows if they have seen the error of their ways or are just stalling for time to cook up new ruses and pitfalls to stay in power and ensure their continued hegemony ovfer the commuity.
such a good job
Yes, on the whole they are doing a good job; certainly far better that anything seen from Orban, Kaczynski or any other of Putin's chancers.
good job
A good job of alienating others. They themselves admit to what is now the biggest EU crisis ever, except they don't realise that they are its cause.
alienating others
You perhaps, who dislikes moderate politicians and favour the religious right. You are however backing a losing horse; otherwise you would moan far less about the ways of the world and all the things you dislike. That and vocally supporting (on here anyway) an entirely negative political party led by a leader who has to sit as a backbencher due to being politically toxic.
Are they still pretending the plane accident at Smolensk was a deliberate bombing by their many rivals or have they managed to shut the bizarre 'National Defence Minister' Macierewicz up yet?
Yes, on the whole they are doing a good job
You're kidding, aren't you? Despite _mountains_ of evidence that a majority of EU citizens dont' want further integration that's their one and only answer to everything. You can either support EU figures like Juncker or democracy but not both.
Merkel's rolling disaster of a refugee policy is bleeding money and resources and diminishing Germans' quality of life with no positive return in sight, the Greek economy is still stuck in debt bondage, Italy's about to fall over the financial waterfall of Euro-financial gravity and an important member decided to leave and you say they're doing a good job? What would failure look like for you?
Their cack-handed we-know-best attitude is tearing the EU apart and you support them? Why? What are some accomplishments of theirs that should be supported?
moderate politicians
Leftists and crypto-Marxists are hardly moderate polticians. They are pushing or pretending to be pushing for society's disentegration on the ideological plane to win the support of every manner of self-styled "progressive", iconoclast, family-basher, christophobe and assorted lefty loon, whacko and deviate. In actuality, behind that pseudo-ideological façade, their real aim is to feather their own nest and promote their clique cronies. It's as old as the hills although first codified by Machiavelli.
Leftists and crypto-Marxists are hardly moderate polticians
You are probably the only person who has ever described the conservative Angela Merkel as a "Leftists and crypto-Marxists". She is neither and you are being both silly and deliberately provocative.
And you are still on the losing side; change always triumphs.
self-styled "progressive", iconoclast, family-basher, christophobe and assorted lefty loon, whacko and deviate.
There you go again, Po. Keep up the good work, keep us entertained...
Are they still pretending the plane accident at Smolensk was a deliberate bombing
I think so. The whole Smolensk investigation is beginning to look like the parody of the Dreyfus Affair in Anatole's Penguin Island.... (at last that damn book serves a purpose).
conservative Angela
In any movement, campaign, party or other collective there are always opportunists who ostensibly do not fit the puzzle. Merkel represents a major power regardless of her private poltical prference and sees her association with EU bigshots as the best way to shield her from the pitiful results of "Merkel's folly", her open invite to refugees all and sundry to invade the continent. She could hardly find support amongst conservatives, in fact there has been a backlash against her in her own CD party.
Yes, change always triumpths. The post-roundable clique have had their fling and savoured the fruits of transformation. And no matter how much they want to cling to the status quo, it's time to move on and spread the benefits to the rest of the nation -- the have-nots, the excluded and disadvanategd. Yes, for once I can agree with you: there's no stopping change, especially if it is the GOOD CHANGE!

they do their job better than she does "hers"..,
Come now, who could be better than her at being a puppet of the "real actual leader", Chairman Kaczynski? Well, other than that cat Duda anyway.
cat Duda
MODS, MODS: (Just in case soembody didn't catch on,I'm pretending to be H the snitcher) Care to explain whether such blatant abuse of Poland's head of state is allowed on the forum. It was stated not too long ago that it would not be tolerated. Doesn't that deliberate, premeditated violation of PF ground rules warrant permanent expulsion or, at the very least, a five-year suspension?

Yeah sure. I imagine you'll claim that saying "that Cat Frankie was at WYD in Poland" is an expression of utmost respect?!
BTW, why don't we ever see you typing THAT CAT WAŁĘSA, THAT CAT SCHETYNA, THAT CAT KIJOWSKI or THAT SHE-CAT GRONKIEWICZ?
Merkel
Merkel certainly did the right thing. Unfortunately in Poland we've basically got an extremely negative orbanist regime at the moment determined to impoverish the country for their own political aims.
As every day passes the end of their term of office grows nearer
Merkel certainly did the right thing.
For what value of "right"?
determined to impoverish the country for their own political aims
Well Merkel has gone out of her way to keep Greece impoverished and is impoverishing her country for the sake of maintaining hundreds of thousands of angry young men from places like Bangladesh and Morocco on welfare (there is zero chance that most will ever be involved in gainful, and legal, employment).
I'll also remind you that Orban was pilloried for saying his country should follow binding European laws and Merkel was lauded for complete lawlessness (and wanting to make decisions about other countries' borders - a historic German pasttime)
THAT CAT KIJOWSKI
Not to mention THAT JEW-CAT MICHNIK?
Merkel certainly did the right thing
If you think so, then she could have done an even better thignn by inviting not apaltry 800,000 last that year, but let's say two million. Come one, come all, Deustchland lädt euch an. As chancellor she is authorised to take numerous decisions PERTAINING TO HER OWN COUNTRY. But to try to impose the bitter fruits of Merkel's Folly on hapless neighbours? That is the heigth of arrogance, cheek and that know-better attitude the Deustche are known for.
