Leszek Pękalski, the famous "Vampire of Bytom" is due for release this year. He was accused of murdering 17 women in cold blood, convicted of one sample case and later admitted to 67 murders (some sorces say 80).

Very interesting how he'll resettle in his community.

Here's a bit of background and a link to an American documentary on the guy:

One of Poland's most notorious serial killers, Leszek Pekalski confessed to murdering dozens of people - men, women and children. Pekalski's mother was a violent alcoholic who drank heavily while pregnant with Pekalski and his twin sister.

The children were subjected to extreme physical violence at the hands of their mother and grandmother on a daily basis, neglected and often starved.

What kind of person would be interested in such morbid acts to actually pay to go watch them being acted out for entertainment.
Certainly only those with an unstable mind to do so for such sick excitement.

Unfortunately all too many in some parts of the world, given the American TV documentary film about it - quite a genre of such shows, and must be a demand over there or they wouldn't make them.

Here in Poland, people are more concerned about his release later this year.

There are some powers, introduced by the last government that can force released criminals to reside in closed centres (not prisons) if they are deemed to remain a very serious risk to the public, however the last Polish serial killer to be controlled that way needed to be released before that happened.
