Which was an initiative of the Tusk government

Wrong-- it was Kaczynski, motivated by the incident with Georgia.

What? They was in preparations to attack Belarus just like Sobakashvili attacked Ossetia? Otherwise, why they would care about it so much?

You mean Saakashvili? Joe, that kind of information is inconclusive. There isn't that much to go on if you compare it to 9/11 which was a blatant wool-pulling operation.

And Russia has openly threatened Poland over it

Openly threatened? What threat do you mean? And what do you expect considering the fact that missile deployment in Poland is itself a direct threat to Russia?

If you had any clue on nuclear parity you wouldn't bring up the issue. It's only beneficial for the USA. Poland would be their missile shield.

For Russia it's just a question of security which has nothing to do with who is at the helm here at the moment.

This is what I mean: cbc.ca/world/story/2008/08/20/us-poland-missileshield.html

These are just 2 of many reports...

This is what I mean:

It's an old information about "U.S. missile shield plans" - cancelled and replaced with Patriot system, completely diferent. Russia is also not very happy but it is not a danger.

Any U.S. global anti-missile shield element is a strategic target for Russian missiles. It is not useful for Poles and is rather dangerous for both of us.

Which is a no brainer. Same thing as NATO bases are targets (especially those with nuclear weapons...).

NATO..."to keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down"

Yes, but not strategic in most cases - means not nesessary to use nucs for all of them.

Yes, if you cut your finger it aches. If you know what I mean... :) Quite soft reaction on Russian part. Care to read the rest I wrote above.

You mean Saakashvili?

Russian speaking readers understand what I mean. ;) For the rest - answer is yes,we are talking about the same person. ;)

NATO..."to keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down"

Some sort of geopolitical kamasutra? ;)

Not if this was the reaction...
Not saying it definetly was, but who knows? It's very possible.

I don't think these Patriot missiles will pass hands too soon. It would be too transparent and relations can change in an instant.

Sooner is better - it is not a cure for paranoia but may be lighten the illness.

I'm sure you'll find some lunatic that will say so, and demand that we look at his link.

why implicate russias guilty concieous by reasoning that a MISSLE DEFENSE SHIELD IN POLAND IS A THREAT TO RUSSIA sry, cap lock it is meant for Iran why by russia having a s**t over it when it has nothing to do with them.

i considered it jobs and payback for poland being a US ally, no? ok fine but keep in mind there are poles with boots on the ground in Iraq/Aphganistan.

btw joe we think alike, good or bad although i considered this assassination a deal made with EU or west, russia says ok for our co-op we want to do this guy, world looks the other way; the west get what it wants, russia handles Iran, no? i can come back to this later for now i go outside.

but, i like to piece together the motives by the headlines in the news at the same time while
US was hosting nuclear safety summit ill find some links later, ukraine agrees to rid stockpiles of nuclear waste and so on.

later

yes... plane crash timing is never good. But using it for your anti-russian propaganda is distasteful.

I guess because the Russians offered the use of a radar base much closer to the launch sites and it was considered to be completely out of the question. Could be that the Russians signed up for a treaty with the US which specifically prohibited ABM systems.

I guess those might be good reasons.

On the contrary... the missile defense shield, from which Obama withdrew, was meant for the middle east--but the patriot missiles (short-range missiles) are meant precisely for security against Russia:

Anti-misssile missiles launch looks on radars too similar to ordinary nuc missiles and may trigger a war even when used against Iran.

Just take it as our paranoia - you haven't monopoly for it :)

but the patriot missiles (short-range missiles) are meant precisely for security against Russia:

It doesn't create important target by itsef and not a danger for us by itself. If it is good for Pole's security feelings - it's OK for us too.

it's OK for us too.

Maybe for you, but not for the Russian government and military. Have a look at the links I posted, and judge for yourself. It's pretty clear.

On another note: Isn't it a little odd that armed soldiers (?), NKVD (?) were already at the crash site, even before emergency crews? Or do armed Russians lurk at every Russian airport, waiting for crashes to occur? Just a thought... nobody have a fit, please.

Yes, there were NKVD agents all over the place.

Would it be unusual for security to be at the airport for a head of state? Probably not. There are apparently still some soldiers based there as well.

NKVD? Blast from the past... NKVD had been renamed to KGB looong time ago, then it was renamed to FSB.

Just try to get into a US airforce base and you'll see how many "armed Americans are lurking there." LOL

As far Russia claiming the Patriot missilies in Poland are a threat to their security - total hogwash. That's like a bank robber saying guards wearing bullet-proof wests are a threat to his/her security. Sasha - Poland is no longer in the Russian influence zone and never will be again! Even with a weak, Russia pleasing president we have. Get used to it!

PS. Still luv ya though! ;)
