Polish Policeman shoots down a foreigner in Warsaw

I can't believe what I'm reading here.

What the news say: Police chased a man who was selling something illegal. They caught him and then a bunch of other people started throwing stones at them and assaulting them. The policemen took out guns to scare off the other attackers. The man tried to wrestle the gun from policeman's hands, the man shot - accidentally or not , we can't tell yet.

The conclusion of some of the commenters here - those dirty, racist, nazi Poles murdering "Untermenschen"!

Why make this into a race thing?

They knew (or should have known if there was one normal IQ among them) that some situations require a little more tact, especially when the group they are dealing with have different cultural expectations.

And the drugs etc. at stadion stopped years ago, not that it was especially prolific anyway. And the guns, drugs, alcohol were allegedly being sold by Russians, Poles and Ukrainians.

I got it:

"Witnesses say he tried to snatch the weapon. A shot accrued, it turned out to be fatal - Sokolowski stressed.

If it is confirmed that the guy tried to get the police man's gun, well then, of course that must be prevent by whatever means possible.

It was supposed to be a routine check traffickers in the area of construction of the National Stadium in Warsaw. However, the visit was a police patrol ended in riots , shooting and death of one person. Killed 36 -year-old Nigerian who tried to escape the uniformed . At least six policemen were wounded.

If they are thuggish, threatening and unidentified, yes. Normal and prudent.

You really think they started with sth like "hey black friend, show me your papers or otherwise we shoot you!"?

Come on, if the cops threatened this guy, there was probably a good reason for it, maybe this guy reacted hostile because he was caught with illegal stuff or he was so stupid to think that he was victim of racism because he had to show his papers.

And in which fantasy of yours do you assume that the Polish police "ask politely" for anything?

I've been stopped 1 time by Polish police. They weren't the most friendly people i've met but if you react normal you won't have problems with them.

Why were the officers condemned thaen but in this case were perfectly within thier rites?

Because the Polish guy wasn't trying to disarm an officer.

Good, police is there to uphold law and order, attempting to disarm them or otherwise hurt them should end in a bullet to the brain.

they killed the guy because he was black , why dont polish police have a stun gun ???

You're an idiot, they killed a guy because he attacked them, polish police uses real guns because, correctly it is assumed they'll be in mortal danger relatively often and need lethal force to protect our citizens and themselves.

Probably nastier. Some of themm look like mafia, dress like mafia and behave like mafia. Draw your own conclusions why.

They weren't the most friendly people i've met

Add to the equation that you're (probably) not here illegally, not from thousands of miles away and a different culture, not a market trader and probably treated far better than him and perhaps even you can understand the situation.

police is there to uphold law and order

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes.

should end in a bullet to the brain.

Fortunately, in Poland people think differently to you on this point. Most people would prefer the courts to deal with it.

Because you're a retard? Never met a policeman "dressed like mafia" they showed him their badges before asking for ID too.

Disarming a police officer deserves getting shot, they had every right to kill that man.

Because the Polish guy wasn't trying to disarm an officer

We dont know any facts and we were also presented conflicting facts with the canadian story, some articals said thr man was agressive and some say he wasnt.

If it was an accident then there should be no repurcussions for the officer but if the officer shot after he retrieved the gun from the assailant then he should be charged as polise are supposed to issue two warning shots before they fire a weapon unless a firearms unit (my wifes bro is a cop).

Because you're a retard?

Ahh lovely Polish charm.

never met a policeman dressed like mafia

I presume you mean "police officer", and have you spent much time in the KriPo part of Polish police stations. Wall to wall leather jackets and buzz cuts.

Disarming a police officer deserves getting shot

And how could he do that bare-handed? Maybe he was Superman.

He is Nigerian not "afroamerican" and if you grab at a Police officers' gun you might get shot...common sense.

And how could he do that bare-handed? Maybe he was Superman.

Simply captain stupid, you assault a policeman and try to wrestle the gun from the holster which is what he apparently tried to do.

Polish police procedure calls for a warning shot and then shooting the limbs, if the situation prevents warning shot its the limbs again, if the guy got killed he clearly attempted something stupid and got rewarded with a Darwin Award and a bullet.

after he retrieved the gun from the assailant

That is the scary part, if they assailant got the gun from the policeman, it is not as if he'd just hand it back without a struggle, is it?

There is no country in the world where trying to get a gun from an armed officer is in any way acceptable.
It is unfortunate that someone had to die but if the witnesses are correct, it is better that it was the assailant than the policeman or a civilian.

try to wrestle the gun from the holster

Sound like a pretty incompetent Police officer if the guy got that close. And if the officer was plain-clothed, where was the holster? But then again, the truth is probably rather different. Let's hope the killer is brought to justice and isn't just allowed to hide behind his badge.

What if he is not hiding? what if the witnesses are correct?
Perhaps I am misunderstanding you but you make it sound like the police officer is guilty of a crime.

But then again, the truth is probably rather different.

Lol, what truth? How do you know it? Are you a witness?

Let's hope the killer is brought to justice

Who needs courts? You've clearly already judged him and declared guilty.

Sounds like you're still a focktard, its easy to simply lunge at a man standing a meter away.

And if the officer was plain-clothed, where was the holster?

Variety of places but if he had a jacket the gun would be concealed at its usual place at the waist, an easily accesible place.

the truth is probably rather different. Let's hope the killer is brought to justice and isn't just allowed to hide behind his badge.

Lets hope not, he (the police officer) had likely every right to kill the assailant.

No one asked them to come to Poland and no one forced them to do illegal stuff.

That's the question, isn't it. Any and all witness statements need to be collated and not by the police who in Poland are untrustworthy.

Who needs courts? You've clearly already judged him and declared guilty.

See the above reply. And reflect that he shot and killed a presumably unarmed guy.

No one asked them to come to Poland and no one forced them to do illegal stuff.

How do you know that he was a) uninvited and b) doing "illegal stuff"?

its easy to simply lunge at a man standing a meter away.

it reads like, they ran after him, wrestled him to the ground and while the police man was trying to put on the handcuffs, the assailant went for the gun and in the struggle a gunshot was fired and the assailant was dead.

Perhaps I am incorrect but I am sure someone will point it out if I am...no doubt.

It was supposed to be a routine check traffickers in the area of construction of the National Stadium in Warsaw. However, the visit was a police patrol ended in riots , shooting and death of one person. Killed 36 -year-old Nigerian who tried to escape the uniformed . At least six policemen were wounded.

How PAP spokesman said police chief Mariusz Sokolowski , while shares were injured at least six policemen. One of the weapons probably shot was Nigerian , was taken to hospital .

especially when the group they are dealing with have different cultural expectations.

Trying to wrestle a shooter off a copper is a cultural difference?

The Nigerian tried to stroke the coppers shooter. Cop was in a difficult situation. Shoot or be shot.

Nigerian got smoked.

Well its even easier to go for the gun in close quarters, he probably got shot in the commotion rather then self defence, Darwin Award if i ever saw one.

are we sure that the cop who fought over the weapon was actually the one who fired the fatal shot.
