Mankini manhunt: Police hunt British tourists seen wearing Borat-style outfits in Poland - and warn they face 30 days in jail for indecency

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6886325/Polish-police-hunting-mankini-wearing-English-speakers-indecent-antics.html

Once again the civilised world is given an umpteenth example of British arrogance and cultural ignorance in full-on shamelessly lewd and grossly unhygienic display.

Once again Poles learn that even in the 21st century the average bozo Brit still regards highly developed and culturally rich Poland as nothing more than a Boratesque backwater courtesy of the low-brow attention-seeker Sacha Baron Cohen.

It was classic British in-yer-face contempt for Poles. An unapologetic "eff you" to all of Poland.

There was nothing funny about this incident.

Lad culture? Yob culture?

Not so fast.

The real hard question that needs to be asked and answered is why do British mothers raise their children to behave this way?

If Kraków doesn't want rowdy stag parties, the Krakowian organisers of them shouldn't spend so much money advertising them in 'lads' mags'.

What a surprise!

Brits deliberately cause public offense, break Polish laws, but guess what? It's Poland's fault!

Is there some reason that British can't hold a party with decorum and respect?

It's Poland's fault!

Who said that? It's the fault of the companies that organise stag weekends.

It looked like they were having fun anyway; far less of a nuisance than a Krakowian football crowd.

Tell us, Bieggers, have you ever seen any stag parties in Kraków? Oooops; I forgot you've never been to Poland.

You only keep dodging giving answers to the questions of import.

Why do your British mothers raise such crass children who are completely ignorant and insensitive about Poland?

Why can't you British behave while visiting abroad in Poland?

highly developed and culturally rich Poland a

Would that be the same Poland with 24 hour alcohol shops, sex shops and gabinet eroticzny, not to mention the brothels openly advertising their services with their street signage. Speaking of the sex shops, in one of those underpass places in Warsaw, it used to be full of shops which have all closed down and the one remaining unit is a sex shop, speaks volumes really doesn't it?

Poland, culturally rich in certain respects definitely, as are most European countries, highly developed, not so much. Getting there certainly but still a long way to go and the progress made so far couldn't have been achieved without the EU. You weren't in Poland before they joined the EU (or indeed since) so you won't know what I'm talking about. Of course there is still the problem of the huge divide between the parts of Poland where that funding has been pumped in and the places where it hasn't.

You only keep dodging giving answers to the questions of import.

As indeed do you. Can't come up with any evidence for your foolish and false claims that Poles have been subjected to a catalogue of hate crimes in Ireland. You invented that story and thus are obliged to repeatedly ignore requests for evidence, as it doesn't exist. Ditto your lies about foreigners outnumbering the native Irish in many urban areas of Ireland when in fact they don't outnumber natives in ANY part of Ireland. Not to mention the fact that you said the people of Eastern Europe were unknown and alien to us, when the Irish people have been actively involved in helping in Belarus, Russia and Romania amongst other places since the 1980s.

So put that on your needles and knit it.

Hilarious! How would you know, likely having never visited either culture, and living in a police state as you do. The reason why the Krakow police chief is saying now that the police are looking for these men is simply that they are now tucked up safe in their local J.D. Weatherspoons in Bolton laughing about it (you can google for J.D. Weatherspoons, and in the meantime, grow a sense of humour)

The police should simply have pulled them aside at the time, and escorted them back to their hotel with a laugh and a photo opp.

Would that be the same Poland....

Well done Atch - what I was trying to say, but you always do it better!

That is a fair point. Soviets are in charge. THAT needs to change.

Oh come on. All That is not an excuse for such a behavior.

Swinging your dick in public is sooo hilarious.... you're a f peasant too. But good point what the police is doing now, long after the fact.... maybe they have their reasons or not.

All That is not an excuse for such a behavior.

Nobody says it is Ironside. But what are the police going to do? Throw the whole of central Krakow into the drunk tank? My daughter went to university there, and knew what to expect, so she simply let the boorish louts get on with their stag parties. It's called live and let live.

Don`t allow yourself to be trapped here - SB`s agenda is both antiPolish and antiBritish. It admitted once it has nothing in common with Polish origin. Prasing Poland in such a falsely elevated tone, it expects you to object and provide counterarguments, which will only further fuel negative stereotypes about Poland.

There was nothing funny about this incident.

Yes, it was funny. Poles need to smile more often, they are too gloomy. Brits know about it and try their best. to provide entertainment. Good for them. The quality of the enterrainment is another thing, but do all British guys have to be Benny Hills ?

That is a fair point. Soviets are in charge. THAT needs to change.

Yes, exactly, those PiS morons are so hopelessly serious, they have absolutely no sense of humor. Pathetic.

bozo Brit still regards highly developed and culturally rich Poland

Should I start crying now over the pitiful fate of Poland, invaded by indecent Brits? :):)

Why can't you British behave while visiting abroad in Poland?

How would you know how people behave in Poland, other than by reading about what others say on the internet?

The police should simply have pulled them aside at the time, and escorted them back to their hotel with a laugh and a photo opp.

Or smiled and wished the high-spending, positive and happy revellers well.

Thanks Paw, you make a very good point. However, just in case he is actually the half-wit that he appears to be, it does no harm to give him a balanced view. Poland, like all countries, is a mixed bag. However, at this time of year, it's just beautiful - Polish spring with all that delikatna zielona on the trees, the blossom breaking through, the promise of lilac to come :)) oh and Easter, my favourite Polish festival. You REALLY know how to 'do' Easter.

In fact Krakow has been ruled by PO for a long time.

but do all British guys have to be Benny Hills

What are you even talking about? are you tryin to be witty, sarcastic and sound smart at the same time? A big fail. Don't do it again its creepy.

Nobody says it is Ironside.

Ok, that is clear then, thanks. By the way how do you like nickname of Tri-city in Poland i.e. Polish Palermo?
Dougpol1  29 | 2497

You misunderstand me. I agree with Atch that all the sex shops and mags on the shelves of supermarkets are more in your face than some lads going on the lash.

Sex shops have disappeared (the last time I came across one and took a photo was about 7-8 years ago) and the magazines have also vanished, probably they are available only on request.

Don't do it again its creepy.

No, it is you who are creepy, you remind me characters from classic horrors, e..g, Psycho by Hitchcock. BTW, saying Benny Hills, I was thinking of Monty Python, of course.

Sex shops have disappeared

No, they're still there, they just became a bit less seedy. For instance - google.com/maps - right in the centre of Poznań.

Everywhere in Tri-City. For my Norwegian friends, apparently.

The thing is that there are clear photographs of thee Brits and all it takes is a phone call/email to the British authorities. However, if the Polish police had been a lot quicker, those Brits could have been arrested at the airport as they tried to board planes to come home.

those Brits could have been arrested at the airport

Could I suggest you read through the thread? The consensus of opinion seems to be that obviously the police did not want to arrest a group of over-frivolous party-goers simply for having a laugh. This might be news to you - but there is no law that prohibits nudity in a public place as such, unless there is clear intent to offend. You might have preferred the PRL - but I much prefer it as things are today: and are you seriously saying that no police saw these lads as they were walking about? Are there no police in Krakow market square and the environs? Anyway, we can safely assume that the Daily Fail is exaggerating the commotion and one could hazard a guess that the revellers were only clad in that way for a short time and then the joke was over.

I wouldn't say that fella, just more like a few Brits having a crack overseas for stag. I'd love to see Polish people letting their hair down more and to stop being so......well.....Polish.

To be honest though, part of the problem is that they're encouraged to do so. The concept of "stop serving drunk people" seems to be totally unheard of here, whereas when I worked in a horrible corporate event club type venue during my student days, it was absolutely normal to tell scum that they were getting nothing more to drink and that was that. The bloke in charge never questioned us - if we felt that someone had had enough to drink, or if they were going to become a problem for themselves/others, then that was it for them.

If someone said that here, they'd probably get sacked. It's a pity.

By adverts for stag weekends placed by Kraków businesses in 'Lad's Mags'. The ads make it very clear what's on offer.

if we felt that someone had had enough to drink...they were going to become a problem ..., then that was it for them.

Exactly Delph. And the fact is, Poles too drink to the max. The great thing is that in bars/pubs they don't. So the barman doesn't have to refuse Poles a drink. But the tradition means that Poles still don't understand the so called British concept of boozing in the pub. Many times I have been the last person standing and I asked for another beer, not realising that everybody else had gone home:) :)

(Cue Ironside with his usual tedious insults which add nothing to the sociological debate....)

Whether it's Cancun, Ibiza, or any other vacation spot you can bet there will be a group of young british dudes who can't control their liquor/drugs and act like retards. They seem to lose their inhibitions and leave their brains behind. Every single time I've been on vacation there was always a group of rowdy drunk british dudes... and what cracks me up is how they'll go to mexico or ibiza and immediately hit the local english pub that some sexpat opened up...

Why can't you British behave while visiting abroad in Poland?

This isn't unique to Poland. They behave like this wherever they go on vacation.... or as they like to call it stag party, stag weekend, etc.

One of these days, I will find out why anyone who is not mentally ill would spend one minute at places like that.
