These are general marriages between ppl from Silesia (citizens of Germany and Poland).

Polish women outnumbered (more than double ) other countries in mix marriages with German citizens with no migration background. This shows that Polish women were the most succesful in marriages with German men , who had no migration background ( having only German ancestry) . The poll , carried out in 2007 , shows that the number of total marriages with Polish women was 55 000 ,while the next country Romania had only 20 000 , This trend of German- Polish marriages is rising .

I think there is no question that many Poles will go and work there. They just need to find a place where their skills can be employed to good effect.

LOL damn hordes. In a big city like Berlin you might see a slight increase of Poles, in smaller towns probably allot more.

I dunno so I ask, how are the Turks doing in Germany BB? If they're so numerous and have been there since the 50s shouldn't they be in general successful? Or is there unwillingness to assimilate hurting them?

Yes as always. Germans are trying to be equal and politically correct yet it's them who create their little "communities" inside Germany. It's not even a generation or two they seem to have a mentality a hundred years back. As in the other thread it showed that the intermarriage rate of Turks with Germans is only at 9%.

Well...our Turks are often still quite religious and won't allow a marriage to a non-muslim and demand from the german girl conversion, that is quite common.

There is a reason for the 9% only after so many decades of living together...Islam has a bad image with the Germans!

That's correct, if you have the potential to accept or maybe tolerate/like/love someone, but in Germany that is still not the fact. Especially now with the crisis going by and Germany consolidated there is no reason for tolerance.

The recent success of the green party was not based on that issue but more on the hype/fear of nuclear energy.

That what in the 70's started with the 1st Gastarbeiter was quite successful, but globalism, changes in society and of course media presence changed that completely.

Now Germany is on the 1st place tolerant to itself. ;)

See ... the guy who calls himself German, obviously doesn't know "his" country's history. Or the old man forgot. The first "Gastarbeiter" were Italians from 1956 onwards, after the first "Anwerbeabkommen" (or recruitment agreement) between the then Bundesrepublik Deutschland and Italy of December 20th 1955.

This one was followed by similar agreements with Spain and Greece (1960), Turkey (1962), Marocco (1963), Portugal (1964, the millionth "Gastarbeiter", Armando Rodrigues de Sá, a carpenter, came from there and was congratulated on the Cologne-Deutz railway station and was given a bunch of flowers, a diploma and a Zundapp moped), Tunisia (1965) and Yugoslavia (1968).

In 1973, after 4 million foreign workers had already settled in Germany there was actually a stop in recruitment because of the oil crisis.

Ah well ... I guess we are used to his factual inaccuracies.
