Poland (and the V4) in order to grow in a more balanced form needs to break this cycle and start building strong

More fantasies. The reality is that the V4 have very little to offer. The Czech Republic is becoming a high wage centre with structural problems, Slovakia has no interest in moving away from the current Austro-German economic model, Hungary is tied up heavily with Russia and Poland will move back into the German orbit as soon as the government changes.

But Poland and the V4 just had the most successful 30 year growth period in their history. What do you want to build in this Intermarium ? Giant skoda cannons and miniature tanks ?

Poland (and the V4) in order to grow in a more balanced form needs to break this cycle and start building strong Central European

Poland has 12 billion euro yearly trade surplus with Germany--so we benefit greatly from our mutual economic relations, and such wide co-operation has been made possible within the EU (it was nowhere near that before 2004).

Also, what's the point of building a Central Europe without Germany? What's the point of isolating ourselves from the country that has proven to be a stable and reliable ally for all the countries of our region? Poland alone does not have the means to be the hub and the engine for Mitteleuropa (or even its expanded version - Intermarium)--Germany has.

The EU drastical changes since the far right wins more and more. There is more and more division. It already is incapable to act.

You can laugh as you want, what you fail to answer is, why the EU lost so many.

Explain to me why i, as a young man who actually saw the EU positive changed his mind 180* in 2015.

Why do i see nothing positive anymore regarding it? Why do i actually feel betrayed and feel glad to see something break apart that i supported 4 years ago?

But Poland and the V4 just had the most successful 30 year growth period in their history.

The truth is that even if the V4 got together and formed a serious economic union (which they won't), it would be trivial for Germany and France to pick off the Czechs and Slovaks by offering them all the work that's currently carried out in Poland and Hungary. If you're the Czech or Slovak PM, do you refuse a huge amount of new investment for unreliable Polish partners and Hungarians that are in bed with Russia? Of course not.

We are seeing German union and soldarity here.....and they want to run Europe???
What a joke The whole concept of The EU is!!
Unions rarely work out in the long run,The USA was an exception because they all spoke the same language.
The UK too,but even these two strong unions based on a common language are looking more fragile now.
What chance The EU with no common language?

What a terrible joke it is, an economic and political union that has led to a peaceful and prosperous Europe.

Tell us, why was Poland so poor and backwards without the EU?

@Miloslaw

No, you see an arrogant Berliner mocking someone who see as province, its typical. They sit in Berlin and when goimg out are shocked that their utopia is hated. They actually call us dark germany, because we stand for our country and find their beliefs disgusting. They think they are the best, when most would not even want to be dead in berlin. Its an ugly and dirty city

I have no idea!

It's one thing to blame Merkel for what happened in 2015 and afterwards but wanting to shoot in your own foot because of that is beyond me...sorry, I can't explain it to you!

Peaceful? France and Italy beat each other, greece is bancrupt, uk breaking apart, the borders unprotected and ISIS committed gargantuan crimes. Working class gets poorer, middle class shrinks.

Frieden, Stabilität, Wohlstand - that's the three German words I know, and that's what we get from the EU. As long as it remains that way, I don't mind if even Japanese is decreed the official language of the Union. :)

Peaceful?

Yes, peaceful. Those things are trivial compared to 1870-1939 in Europe.

You'll notice that despite everything, not one country left Schengen.

And you didn't give a sh*it before Merkel let the refugees in?

The same with the poor people you so care about as you just stated you don't care for anything socialism...

Interesting!

Frankly Weimarer I wonder if you are true....some things in your postings just don't add up.

Polls indicate le Pen will win in EU election in France, Lega Nord in Italy and AfD win mayor seats as well.

Polls also said Brexit would not take place

As fascinating as Kanjis are I would put them even above German in difficulty levels...:)

Ich kanns nicht ändern, ich lehne alles ab, wofür diese Figuren stehen. Nur noch AfD.

It's totally okay if you make this choice for yourself...but it's not my choice and not the choice of millions of others.

And I have more trust in a reformed CDU after Merkel to repair much of the damage as in the AfD any time soon...

Oh and it's totally useless to blame the EU for 2015. Merkel acted totally individually WITHOUT to even notify and warn her
european partners. The EU is NOT to blame for that desaster.

Your rants are totally useless!

Well, I, for one, started learning German some time ago, as you well know, despite my old age. :) Anyway, it makes more sense to have German as the main EU working language now that Ireland is the only English-speaking country left in the Union.

@Bratwurst Boy

Its obviously tze choice of millions of Germans, and in eastern germany the choice of the majority.

Our country has become deeply divided. You cant denie that. We are ripped apart and both groups dont talk
With each other anymore.

The AfD was important, because it worked as catalyst to change Germany and break open the crust of Merkel. Thats what im thankful for.

I cant trust CdU. Once a traitor, always a traitor.

How can i trust a party that caused so much damage? AKK is Merkel. No difference.

Now we are two already! :)

Poland has 12 billion euro yearly trade surplus with Germany--so we benefit greatly from our mutual economic relations

Let's start with the basics: what works in a short-mid term doesn't always benefit country's long-term future.

The structure of that export surplus is important. Poland is exporting to Germany components with lower profits margins and importing final products from Germany (those with higher profits margins). Furthermore, Germany re-exports final products made with Polish, and V4, components to the US and other UE countries getting the highest profit margins which comes back to German economy (and industry).

That's how money is made.

It's a difficult one, because the CEE region uses English and not German.

That's true. In Poland most of the young people have conservative and right-wing political views. And the "refugee" crisis was an eye opening event for many Poles who would rather vote to leave the EU than to accept muslim "refugees"

I don't know about that--those PESA trains look pretty much a final product to me. We also sell to Germany: automatic data processing machines, gas turbines, turbojet engines, electric homeware devices, furniture and tons of others of what you call final products. And, at the end of the day, we have around 50 billion zlotys in the surplus. Can't complain, can we?

Also, what you have written about the structure of our export/import was more true 5 years ago. Even more so 10 years ago, and 15 and so on. So the things are moving in the right direction.

Working class gets poorer,

Yes, of course. That's the UK - post Brexit. Why on earth do you think the Tories are so keen on leaving the EU? Your turn next for zero to negative growth in your little ex-GDR, if you get the weird local anachronism that you are praying for. The stinking world which existed until recently, that I well remember from my travels in communist Germany in the 1980s. Now get down on your knees and pay homage to Uncle Juncker and the EU for your hand-outs, there's a good lad.

In Poland most of the young people have conservative and right-wing political views.

Another lie. In fact, most young people don't even vote, and that Polish electoral history shows that the youth vote often changes rather rapidly.

.even in Thüringen the AfD runs head-to-head with the CDU. Not to forget the other parties...that is in no way a majority.

It won't be anywhere near a majority. They still need to beat die Linke, and the Greens are mounting a challenge there too.

please stick to the Polish political scene
