The Czech Republic is becoming a high wage centre with structural problems, Slovakia has no interest in moving away from the current Austro-German economic model, Hungary is tied up heavily with Russia and Poland will move back into the German orbit as soon as the government changes.

But Poland and the V4 just had the most successful 30 year growth period in their history. What do you want to build in this Intermarium ? Giant skoda cannons and miniature tanks ?

Poland has 12 billion euro yearly trade surplus with Germany--so we benefit greatly from our mutual economic relations, and such wide co-operation has been made possible within the EU (it was nowhere near that before 2004).

Also, what's the point of building a Central Europe without Germany? What's the point of isolating ourselves from the country that has proven to be a stable and reliable ally for all the countries of our region? Poland alone does not have the means to be the hub and the engine for Mitteleuropa (or even its expanded version - Intermarium)--Germany has.

And then the EU is "over"? Because of EU elections?

The EU drastical changes since the far right wins more and more. There is more and more division. It already is incapable to act.

You can laugh as you want, what you fail to answer is, why the EU lost so many.

Explain to me why i, as a young man who actually saw the EU positive changed his mind 180* in 2015.

Why do i see nothing positive anymore regarding it? Why do i actually feel betrayed and feel glad to see something break apart that i supported 4 years ago?

The truth is that even if the V4 got together and formed a serious economic union (which they won't), it would be trivial for Germany and France to pick off the Czechs and Slovaks by offering them all the work that's currently carried out in Poland and Hungary. If you're the Czech or Slovak PM, do you refuse a huge amount of new investment for unreliable Polish partners and Hungarians that are in bed with Russia? Of course not.

We are seeing German union and soldarity here.....and they want to run Europe???

Unions rarely work out in the long run,The USA was an exception because they all spoke the same language.
The UK too,but even these two strong unions based on a common language are looking more fragile now.

No, you see an arrogant Berliner mocking someone who see as province, its typical. They sit in Berlin and when goimg out are shocked that their utopia is hated. Frieden, Stabilität, Wohlstand - that's the three German words I know, and that's what we get from the EU. As long as it remains that way, I don't mind if even Japanese is decreed the official language of the Union. :)

Well, I, for one, started learning German some time ago, as you well know, despite my old age. :) Anyway, it makes more sense to have German as the main EU working language now that Ireland is the only English-speaking country left in the Union.

Let's start with the basics: what works in a short-mid term doesn't always benefit country's long-term future.

The structure of that export surplus is important. Poland is exporting to Germany components with lower profits margins and importing final products from Germany (those with higher profits margins). Furthermore, Germany re-exports final products made with Polish, and V4, components to the US and other UE countries getting the highest profit margins which comes back to German economy (and industry).

That's how money is made.

That's true. In Poland most of the young people have conservative and right-wing political views. And the "refugee" crisis was an eye opening event for many Poles who would rather vote to leave the EU than to accept muslim "refugees"

We also sell to Germany: automatic data processing machines, gas turbines, turbojet engines, electric homeware devices, furniture and tons of others of what you call final products. And, at the end of the day, we have around 50 billion zlotys in the surplus. Can't complain, can we?
