Wizzair and Ryanair are rarely as cheap as they advertise
Wizz are particularly bad for that. I find that it's often cheaper to fly LOT than Wizz, especially as with Wizz you need to pay for hand-luggage unless you take a tiny backpack which only holds enough for a couple of days at most.
Ryanair are now better at having flights for the price they claim (I'm going to Stansted next month for 161zl gross return), but as they insist on using Modlin you then have to add either 180zl for a return Uber trip or 40zl a night for parking or spend as long on the train&bus to the airport as you spend flying to the UK.
Agreed. The headline price may appear attractive but once you start adding luggage and taxes then I nearly always pay around £ 180 - £ 220 for return flights to Poland.
Last weekend I flew to Gatwick with Norwegian for £61 gross including taxes. If I'd wanted to take hold luggage it would have been £101. The flight was fine, very close to LOT quality. I'll be using them again when visiting friends in the south-east, and quite possibly the south-west too: car hire at Gatwick south is a breeze, much better than Heathrow, I saved more time with the car hire than it would take me to drive from Gatwick to Heathrow!
