Trump will hold Poland up as an example for other nations to follow

Hah, even the BBC is trying to push this fake narrative.

youtu.be/U0LBawbGHJA

It was hardly a snub. My guess would be her husband was shaking Trump's hand, so Agata Duda decided to go and shake Melania's hand in the meantime. As it turned out, the two presidents finished their handshake quickly [normally Trump has his grip on someone else's hand for a while] and Trump stuck his hand out to Mrs Duda when she was already on her way to Melania.

It would have been a snub if Mrs Duda had not shaken his hand, you know like how Merkel was snubbed by Trump a while ago.

Name one, HB. I know, I know, you are not at liberty, not authorised, not permitted by PF rules, regulations and procedures, you fear libel suits and, above all, you are a total &#$?!%X=*%

WielkiPolak]Trump stuck his hand out[/quote]
And THAT was a breach of Polish etiquette. When in Poland do as the Poles do. His White House staff should've briefed him on that.

My guess would be

You can guess what you want, the rest of us can see that the SCROTUS had his hand out to pani Duda when she was standing behind her husband and looking at Trump. She walked right past his hand and went to Mrs Trump.

It is considered rude and vulgar for a Polish lady to greet a male before greeting his spouse.

But protocol takes precedence over social norms on state occasions. You Americans don't understand these things of course, 'we're all just folks' :D However on state occasions precedence is determined by official rank and not by gender. Mrs Trump has no official rank so the correct form is either:

The hosting head of state greets visiting head of state, then greets wife of visitor, then wife of host greets visiting head of state followed by wife of same.

or
Host greets visiting head of state, wife of host greets visiting head of state, host greets wife of visitor and then wife of host greets wife of visitor but either way 'wife of visiting head of state' comes last.

You can see why Mrs D got a bit confused! 'Tell me again who I'm supposed to be greeting now??' It's a bit like Danny Kaye and the famous Chalice from the Palace, the Flagon with the Dragon and the Pellet with the Poison in the Vessel with the Pessel.

Women are always greeted first whether by men or other women.

That`s how needs to be. Basically, Agata achieved point for Poland, while Duda failed by his complete performance.

Just now we understand why Poland aggravated its ties with Vatican. Its all part of same policy that distancing Poland from rest of Visegrad Group and from other Poland`s traditional friends, while on the other side puts Poland in German sphere of influence. So now, when Vatican historically resist to German influence that often tried (and sometimes managed) to manipulate with Vatican and Catholic Church, official Poland is there to offer services to Germany.

Yes, it was a clear failing of diplomatic protocol.

It appears to be a very successful trip for Trump!

When you have grab for straws to find something to criticize, you look like a fool, it was just handshake, nothing more!

Not even a decent attempt form a vindictive person like yourself! Did you cry yourself to sleep last night? LOL

I'm fully aware that you have no idea what diplomatic protocol is or why it's important.

I suppose you also indulge in rapid forking?

Trump sure hasn't. The dude's proud of it even. His incorrigability has certainly struck a chord with the moron millions, I regrettably have to call my fellow Americans. Ya punch out a teacher in junior high school for no reason and your dad's a bigwig of whom the idiot principal friggin' ass coward's too scared, and ya wind up leader of the free world.

Not certain whether or not the White House still retains a Protocal Chief. If they do, he/she's either been bought off (more than likely), is dead drunk, or on drugs, 'cuz protocal's the LAST thing on this cabinet's mind. And they rationalize it as doing the right thing. Incredible!!!

Much bigger flaw is to give that much space to openly pro-German Nazi Croat president. No, not only because of echoes of it in Serbian public but also having in mind that Croatia making problems to Hungary and to Slovenia, too. Seams that Poland forgetting old allies in order to achieve points in the eyes of Germany. By the God, even USA president Trump was manipulated so that one can get impression that Trump came in German sphere of influence.

Quite. We should always remember here that Croatia is very much Germany's puppet in the Balkans and will always do what is best for Germany.

I'm sure the Americans know just fine that Croatia is under the German sphere of influence too. There's no way that Croatia is going to harm German/American interests in Europe.

No, not until their deeply pro-German elite must choose between Germany and USA (or anybody else). For them, Germany first (and last). In primary schools already children in Croatia are forced to learn that they aren`t Slavs but of Gothic origin. No wonder that region by region in today`s Greater Croatia starting to oppose to Zagreb (Capital and with its surrounding areas only real ethnic Croatian region; all the rest was stolen from Serbs).

We should always remember here that Croatia is very much Germany's puppet in the Balkans and will always do what is best for Germany.

Croat president in Warsaw to welcome Trump is final humiliation of Poland. Not that Poland must bow to Germany but now even to German satellites. Disgusting.

No wonder that Hungary`s Orban turning to Serbia.

Crow what are you even talking about. Its clear that American and Germany don't see eye to eye anymore. Plus Croatia is doing something in their own national interests which also will/might benefits Poland. There is a field to work.
Crow  154 | 9591

What are YOU talking about? Don`t you see where heading official Poland. Don`t you see that official Poland humiliating Serbians (with recognition of Kosovo, by doing doings in Montenegro, in Bosnia, Herzegovina, Dalmatia, Croatia, Krajina) also humiliate Poles. What is next Irone? Croat president is open pro-German Nazi and Croatian regime denied rights to Serbians, erasing Serbian history and culture, claim that WWII genocide on Serbs was justified (this very Kolinda said that), etc, etc. There are public prayers for ustasha monsters (worse then Ukrainian banderists; can you believe there could be worse) in Croatia and even Vatican there have problems with pro-Nazi clergy. You support it? You want official Poland to stand for it when Serbians (Catholic and Orthodox) within Croatia rebel and liberate themselves? When Serbs starting to struggle to re-unite their shattered ethos? Would that be problem to Poland?

I reading today that Kosovo Albanians wants to form army and that would Albania and Croatia support them to organize it. Would you like Poland also to help in making Kosovo army? Army of Islamic terrorists and narco mafia? Is that club for Poland??? What is this Irone? What`s going on?

There is a field to work.

Serbians are owners of that where official Poland meddling. Official Poland stubbing Racowie in the back. Repeatedly stabbing. How did we deserved that?

What example? You better look what Serbia got from USA back in 1992-1999 when Slobodan Milosevic activated alliance with USA. Cold knife in the back we got from USA. Treachery. But, believe me, its not worse what USA did to us. What pains us is the lie. USA lied on us. And for what? Because USA decided to support Islamists and Nazis in the region.

See, my Poles. Same how USA betrayed Serbia, mark my words, USA would betray Poland. And they praised Serbia. We Serbians are only people in the world that got its flag raised above the White House, for the matter of greatest possible honor ever in USA history. It was on July 28th 1918, for the 4th anniversary of the beginning of World War I. Serbian flag flew above the White House and all public buildings in American capital by the order of President Woodrow Wilson.

And I hope that no matter all humiliation, by Polish governments in last 20 years and by the Vatican in centuries already, when all betray you Poles, when USA stub you in the back, we Serbian found strength and we have strength to support Poland. For we can`t forget, God help us, we live because Poland supported us against Ottomans, absolutely and totally distinguished itself at a time when all western European Catholics and Protestants collaborated with Turks and burred us alive.

Glory to Poland! Long live Poland and Serbia! Slavdom!

One day, when rightful owner take what belong to him and things return to normality, Poland would again have to negotiate with Serbs, about business. But its a good news, for there won`t be necessity for Poland to humiliate itself anymore in front of Germans, Russians or Americans.

Its obvious, from all European countries, Trump have biggest respect for Poland and for Serbia. Think about it and let me tell to the haters- Trump recognized our honesty and great contribution to global civilization.

Glad he's holding some country other than the US today up as an example for other nations to follow, 'cuz as things stand at present, it sure ain't us!

Poland deserves plenty of belated recognition. Pity it has to be Trump on the world stage who's doing it, and probably for all the wrong reasons too:-)

I'd be surprised if Trump could point to Poland on a map.
He would probably expect Serbia to be a Muslim state and point to the Middle East.......

Miloslaw is probably correct on Trump inability to find Poland on the map. All this posturing for Polish votes in USA and then not delivering on his promises for Visa's and Visa waivers says all any Pole needs to know about him. Make promises with no intention of keeping them. But that's fake news too I am sure.
