Oh no but some of the Catholic priests were found to be pedo's and suddenly Catholicism is nothing but pedo's.

The main difference, aside from the high frequency of occurence (go figure, men sworn to celebacy for life tend to be gay or sexual deviants) is that these guys are usually sent out to hide in Europe somewhere and are never prosecuted. If a doctor or anyone else for that matter was caught molesting a child, you can be sure where he/she is taking up residency.

The catholic church has proven to be above the law for as long as it has existed. If someone from your family was sexually assaulted by a priest, you'd want him in jail more than anything, but you know how slim the chances are that he'd even spend a single day behind bars.

I prefer Catholicism than a Christian religion run in America by some average dude with a family who has made up his own Church and now wants to feel important.

And how exactly did Catholicism get started?

And how exactly did Catholicism get started?

Jesus, you know him? Son of God, built the Church on one of his disciples and that is where it began. If you believe in Jesus and his disciples and what they stood for then surely the best religion to follow that is based on them is the one they officially started. It has gotten passed on from Pope to Pope who is supposed to be the modern day apostle. Although some people go for the one started by some dude or dudes in America, England or Russia who decided that some of the rules do not suit them so they altered it and decided they would be in charge.

Jesus, you know him? Son of God

According to some religions. But not others.

the high frequency of occurence (

Any links as to the actual figure or maybe your statement is based on your feelings?

Oh come on genecps..

I can't help having a severe dislike for the "Church"!

Like I said before men sworn to celibacy, will end up turning to perversion. And as far as American churches go, most ministers here have families and the rate of them molesting members of their congregation are slim. My view on Christianity isn't Jaded, I was Baptized in the Russian Orthodox Church, I just do not believe that Jesus was anything more then a man who taught Judaism to his followers and wanted a more open Judaism, like it is today. I feel the Greeks screwd it up because emperor Augustus wanted a religion that made sense to him, and since he was a polytheist, he made Christianity to be this multi "being" religion, which included: God, His son, a Virgin mother, The Devil (notice in Judaism there's no devil), and the the Holly Ghost, plus Heaven and Hell (also not found in Judaism).

Personally, if I believed in Jesus I would be a member of LDS Church, I knew a lot of Mormons and like what they are about.

Jesus, you know him?

I've heard of him. A Jewish carpenter that lived in the middle of the desert over 2,000 years ago.

What makes him any more special, that you can prove, than anyone else? You don't actually believe he turned water into wine, or that he parted the Red Sea, or that he could heal the sick with his bare hands, or that he walked on water, or that he literally died and resurrected 3 days later, do you? And surely you must not think that he was the first guy to think The Golden Rule was a nice concept, right? What about the man that lived inside a whale, Noah and his Ark, or better yet, the talking snake?

All that is contained in the same book that you hold so sacred. With all that BS the Bible is full of, what makes you think anything written about Jesus Christ is actually true?

You know what is more likely? He was just a charismatic man that had a lot to say and people made a God out of him. Oh, and then decided to write about him decades, or even centuries after his death.

Ever hear of the game telephone? Imagine a couple hundred years of telephone amongst ignorant, illiterate, completely uneducated peasants in the middle of a desert and then you tell me, do YOU know him?

If anything, a Judeo-leftist carpenter.

Is that the kind of carpenters that hold the hammers in their left hand?

History hasn't told us whether he was right or left handed. What we do know is that he was a hell of a lot more tolerant than many of his followers today.

Jon357,I should have been more clear,my bad,in the bible Jesus "says lean not on your own understanding"which to me means man can't

understand the mind of God,but yet Preachers Pastors etc.want you to go with their understanding;does it make sense now?

Pretty well. I'd add that Jesus's religion isn't the only one whose adherents are convinced it's got all the answers.

And also that a lot of today's Christians - if they met him at a party - probably wouldn't like him at all.

I agree,I only mentioned Jesus because you mentioned how his followers are less tolerant.Same applies to some other religions.
