There are clear indications that strengthening of Polish economy, Poland`s Geo-strategical situation between East and West of Europe, Poland`s influence within the Slavic world and impact on Eastern European countries from the Baltic to Balkan and Black see, inevitable leads to the consolidation of Poland as dominant country (ie power) on European continent. Let it be on the behalf of peace in Europe and, prosperity.

Welcome back Poland. It's about time

Most intelligent Polish people doesn't necessarily think about dominating the Europe/World. Facing the challenges which people are facing now is more important than fighting for 'land', which can be easily lost... Poland diseappered from maps not so long ago, so we know how it's important to have a place on earth, granting the freedom to specific cultures and nations.

If Europe would become Poland, I'd move to Asia or America, as I couldn't stand it. Because I'm from Poland :)

domination does not necessarily mean taking the land from others and spreading the borders. Look what Germany is doing. i wanted to mention Russia as another example but, when i think, i really don`t think that Russia shows intention to dominate. It has its area of concern but, when not under pressure (let`s say by NATO), Russia shows clear intention to negotiate. Anyway, Germany is good example with all that set of economic and military measures that undertook recently, outside of her natural zone of influence.

If Europe would become Poland, I'd move to Asia or America, as I couldn't stand it. Because I'm from Poland :)

Europe won`t become Poland. Its not about it. Its about Poland`s impact on European politics, culture and economics. There are some factors that would cumulatively push Poland onto the position of European leader.

Primarily, money flow in Europe moving to the East. This process is supported by numerous powerful factor outside (even predominantly outside) of Europe (I point at China, Brazil, India, Japan, even Islamic world). Also, i clearly see that right now, Russia represent one of major factors that stimulate Poland`s consolidation and, it would soon become more obvious.

Eastern Europe as it is, already is dominated by Slavs. Poland slowly but surely, moving to the position of the leading Eastern European Slavic country. When once positioned as leading country among Eastern European Slavs (Russia is excluded here), Poland would be already recognized as leading power of entire Eastern Europe (again, Russia is excluded here- let us look at Russia as one self-sustainable system).

Now, with this development of situation, Vatican (and USA- for different reasons then Vatican), that generally see Poland as second class player, would be forced to grab their share in that `whatever` mean- Europe dominated by Poland. It means that would Vatican itself start to support increased Poland`s role in Europe. Supporting Poland would for Vatican represent question of its own promotion. In the same time, USA would start to takes Poland as serious partner, what would again bring financial benefits to Poland. On the other side, Russia would, with secured her western borders from the more lethal opponent (Germany) seek to have at least neutral, if not friendly relations with Poland.

Then, with time, Russia would turn to her internal problems. Same goes for perspective of the USA- dedication to internal problems.

As for Germany, same factors that push Poland up, would push Germany down. German resistance to advancing Poland`s domination (and maniacal German necessity to herself rule and control Europe) would move Germany deeper in coalition with England and France and, together (with them entire west of Europe), those countries would create specific self-sustainable system. You would note that i said England not Britain. It is so because i don`t see Britain. In the same time, i see Scotland in Poland`s zone of influence.

back to the future

Poland's "strengthening" economy will clock 1.5% GDP growth this year. Last year it was 1.9%. That seems to be a weakening economy.

Poland Ranked Best for Business in East Europe and Central Asia

By Piotr Skolimowski Jan 22, 2014
bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-21/poland-ranked-best-for-business-in-east-europe-and-central-asia.html

Poland is the best country to do business in eastern Europe and Central Asia because of its expanding consumer market and improving infrastructure, according to a Bloomberg survey.

The European Union's largest eastern economy topped a list of 21 countries compiled by Bloomberg Rankings for 2014, edging out regional peers the Czech Republic and Hungary. Poland ranked 26th of 214 evaluated countries worldwide.

Poland shall dominate Europe.

As a provider for cheap labor?

Quote from the Bloomberg article:
"Even so, average monthly salaries are a third of what companies pay their employees in neighboring Germany, according to statistics office. That's lured foreign investors."

As a provider for cheap labor?

That`s exactly how Nikola Tesla started his carrier in USA. He was selling himself as cheap physical worker, just to survive.

"Even so, average monthly salaries are a third of what companies pay their employees in neighboring Germany, according to statistics office. That's lured foreign investors."

well, let`s not compare Poland and Germany. Its not Poles who looted Germany several times but the opposite and its not Poles who committed genocide on Germans but the opposite. Poland`s position is historically worse. But, there are positive signals and signs of Poland`s vitality.

He was selling himself as cheap physical worker, just to survive.

... and when he died he was still impoverished and in debt ...

well, let`s not compare Poland and Germany.

Well, you were the one who provided the link to the Bloomberg article.

Its not Poles who looted Germany several times but the opposite and its not Poles who committed genocide on Germans but the opposite.

You forgot your Sarmatian brothers who occupied Poland much longer than the Nazis.

Anyway, Tesla and WW2 have nothing to do with Poland's current economic strategy. It's a political decision to bring low paying service and blue collar jobs like the Amazon logistics centers into the country. Does that make the millions of highly educated people who left Poland want to go home? No.

How few is few? Wrocław is full of young kids everywhere you go. Mums and dads pushing buggies on every footpath I walk and always in my way, buggies loaded on to packed buses several times a day when I travel, screaming kids in the corridors of every block I've ever lived in. More kids here than I ever see when I am back in Britain, and no I don't live in Eastbourne. So, if this is "few", I cannot imagine what it was like before. It must have been like one big kindergarten, although it's not far from that now.

In any case, even if few babies are being born here (which I doubt, whatever the stats may say), they're being born in the UK and Eire, and it's not impossible that many will return to Poland. I have to say, however, Wrocław seems very over-crowded already. It's hard to imagine busier streets or busier sidewalks most times.

too few,i ment that ,Poland's birthrate is now among the lowest in World. on average, each woman in Poland is having 1.31 children, well below the natural replacement level to sustain population.and its ageing very fast.its disastrous.

i read in some British paper that polish girls have 40k abortions in the uk every year..here is your feminist emancipation for you.well done, thanks to leftist scumbags!!

Honestly, I know I'm just giving you an anecdote that's pretty much worthless, but I find it so hard to believe the birthrate's down. There are kids everywhere. Noisy, screaming, pavement hogging, childseats in every car almost, packed buses, young people just everywhere and it not only gives me a headache and gets in my way so I can't even sit down on a bus or walk a pavement without having to step on to the road to let a buggy coming opposite pass, but it just makes me feel so very old. I am a miserable b*gger I know.

The EU is an evil entity but Poland's economy is actually suppose to improve. One problem is the unemployment rate.
And then there is issue of immigration from certain nations which might change Polands face forever. Hopefully they dont go as extreme as what UK or France did.

I have checked on several sources that Poland's population is supposed to reduce by ~3-5 million by 2050.
So look at Ukraine, they might join EU (what the 'patriots' there wanted) and if they do millions will be heading directly to Poland, Germany, or Western Europe.

In any case, even if few babies are being born here (which I doubt, whatever the stats may say), they're being born in the UK and Eire, and it's not impossible that many will return to Poland.

Poland has one of the lowest birthrates on Earth. Past few years its going from 1.2-1.4/family.
You need 2.1 kids/family to sustain population. The radical Liberalism and Materialism are problems.
This problem persists most or all Europe, East Asia, etc.

This is incredible stuff to me. I believe what you're saying, but it's just it seems everyone here has loads of kids. It seems to be the complete opposite here of a low birthrate. Maybe there's something in the water, locally!

Maybe we should ask JK for advice? After all he is always moaning about Poland's declining birthrate....

you know for that old saying- `that what don`t kill you, makes you stronger`. Meaning, if Poland survive and avoid destine of Yugoslavia and Ukraine, there would be real chances that Poland truly dominate in Europe.

Ironically, it could happen that Russia finish `dirty job` and actually clear path for the Poland`s climb to the stars. If just Poles grab the opportunity and if just `friends` of Poland fails to prevent that.
