Sad to hear this. Let them burn for not helping Polish people in the Warsaw Uprising. I hope the Polish firefighters sit on their a'sses across the river and let Moscow burn.

Stalin had complete control of the country at the time, Russian people suffered under his regime more than any other, blame him blame communism not the people, they didn't do anything.

I don't know why Poland is sending our guys there when just last week or so Poland's government was b'itching for the first time about the Ruski's not being co-operative in the Smolensk air disaster.

Russians , Poles move to the rescue

Russians are still fighting a losing battle with the fire , which for several weeks has ravaged the country . To go for help preparing in Suwalki Polish firemen - a total of approx. 50 cars and almost 160 people.

- The decision was signed provided for the interior minister of the participation of forces from Polish firefighters in the fire fighting . ( ... ) This command was implemented almost immediately - said Marcin Janowski TVN24 captain of the fire brigade in Bialystok.

I think its the neighborly and humane thing to do, for the Poles to help the Russians put out their fires, even if Poles and Russians may have their differences.

But what's up with those fires?

There are maps and reports that show hundreds and hundreds of fires in Russia.

Most fires in any country are accidentally started by humans just like here in the US.

With so many fires going on in Russia, could any of this be arson?

True but what was the spark of these fires?

Here in the western US we have had many forest fires when the temperature and climate were extreme.

I used to think these fires used to just start by something natural like lightning or something like that, until I read that the MOST forest fires are started by human error and accidents like throwing away a cigarette butt which happens all over the world all the time.

They say that was the case with most of the California fires and then they also said some illegals in California were recklessly if not purposely throwing around drug burning/producing items that were lit.

They say most forest fires in any part of the world are caused by humans (mostly because of carelessness). I didn't think that before until I read that report.

It's a conspiracy. I bet the CIA is sending in "Polish firemen" to actually create more random fires and create chaos for the Russians. (jokes)

Out of curiosity, what in h'ell will the people back in Poland do if they're short of firemen, seeing as it appears they're all being sent from the Białystok region?

I'm sure they also got some grown up between all these children now and then...just accidents of course...

Poland would rather need "flood"-men...Just look at the Neiße..

That was a good decision but rychlik has a point in that Putin has to put more on the table. He cannot forever plead territorial jurisdiction as Poland has a greater interest factor in a true outcome. International relations has and will always operate under the maxim, 'you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours'.

America and Russia need to show it more to Poland.

Poland is a political midget, and won't be treated as an equal partner for some time to come.

Go ahead a spew out your venom on a different thread, you can even start a go-to-hell-America-thread - plenty of those here.

This thread was about helping Russia fight fires that have killed many people. I thought it was admirable that the Polish government sent some help and felt the comment by rychlik was wrong. You on the other hand had to spew out your typical hate garbage just because you felt like it. No fan of Russia but helping out here is at total no-brainer. Not sure if the US did or not but hope we did.

Rychlik's comment reminded me of some Palestinian and other Arab citizens celebrating the collapsing towers in New York. No matter what disagreements we all have, celebrating events or condoning events where innocent people die is simply wrong. If you feel like attacking America (again) please start another thread.

Soon you should be able to get your own section, if not get your own domain -> WorldAccording2David_18.com

Absolutely but Putin is a totally power-hungry moron and no one will change that. The help was for the Russian people and not for the Russian government.

Is that important now? Putin as a topic and his need for power? Who of the West politics or others does not have that? It's prestige for them.

Anyway, Poland sent its help while others are still negotiating...

No it's not, it was merely a reply to Seanus who was emphasizing Rychlik's point. As I said I'm glad Poland chose to help.

I am glad Polish people are helping Russia fight the Russian fires.

Usually in the past it was the governments of Poland and Russia that have had differences. But it always seemed to me the PEOPLE of Poland and Russia generally had more sympathy for each other then meets the eye. That's probably part of the reason the Polish are not hesitating to help the Russian people fight their tragic fires.

Poland sends firefighters to help Russia
And this is good thing, that is what the neighbours do (if they are not at war at the moment;-) ).
They did help us with floods after all with similar symbolic gestures..

Besides I really cann't restrain myself from general observation, that those firefighters are paid by Polish citizens, by Polish taxes (including mine), and some of "Poles" living a couple of decades abroad have nothing to say about it, at least they shouldn't have... The longer I think of the fact, that some guy who is only visitor here, or even didn't bother to drop by in last decades, he is not a taxpayer here and in the same time has the right to vote, the more clear to me is how not right it is. I mean I think it is good, it is ok to maintain some kind of a bond, interest in culture and stuff like that. But when some guy from the other side of Atlantic is starting to whine about what we should do or not with some firefighters team, then it is a place when he is crossing a line.

What I want to say to such a person is a simple: IT IS NOT YOUR BUSSINESS PAL!

I wonder if Russia will make a similar gesture to Poland. There has also been an all-day Russian festival here in Poland. It was televised. Showing Katyń was good but sth else must follow IMHO.
