Also some more demagogy, people would be exempted to pay tax up to the age of 30. Who would then pay to make up for loss?

I don't like PiS but PO is in very cheap demagogy....

A lot of the middle classes shop there, it's really not much of a surprise. The PM salary isn't even that high - I remember being quite surprised as to just how little Tusk and Kaczyński actually had in the way of money.

It might not just be about prices, remember - they're everywhere, and I prefer Biedronka to other shops found locally. I'd do all my shopping in Auchan, but the nearest one is about 25 minutes drive away. Carrefour is disgusting, and Tesco can be wildly hit or miss. Biedronka at least has some sort of consistent quality to it when it comes to basic food stuff.

Maybe Biedronka is just the closest place to where she lives?

Biedronka shops in posher areas stock nicer products - and the size of the store is more manageable than a big supermarket. Easier for her security team to do close protection too probably.

I often shop at Biedronka. For one thing they have far better quality steaks than Carrefour and at much lower prices too.

Piotr i Paweł is my only choice when I shop in Poland, always quality products and local owners.

Unfortunately, it's suffering quite badly with quality at the minute. They've got huge problems with meat in particular - to the point where I won't buy meat there because it's a lottery as to whether it's actually fresh or not.

The meat I bought there was always fresh nor any member of my family had any issues with their meat. Maybe you should try putting your meat to the fridge after you buy it?

I suppose it depends what you're used to.

Politicans may not make that much money but there's a lot of things they dont have to pay for.

It's a pretty recent thing, maybe in the last 6-12 months or so. It's quite strange, because they always used to have to have decent products. Their own brand stuff is still excellent, though.

It's not only the food, but also the staff. It seems that they've gone away from the old idea of being a bit more expensive but being better to trying to compete with Lidl and Carrefour for having the worst and sulkiest staff.

If it wasn't for those two things, I'd shop there far more regularly. It's still excellent for premium products though.

Maybe this is just also bait for PiS? I remember how Kaczynski stumbled badly after insulting Tusk for shopping at Biedronka, and maybe this is just PO hoping that lightning will strike twice? Szydło doesn't appear to be too media savvy, and any stupid comments about Ewa Kopacz shopping there will certainly hurt PiS.

Witam! Also as a Polish politician, she should favor Polish businesses instead of giving money to foreign capitalists. Why not shopping for instance at Piotr & Pawel, which is - I believe - Polish and as to buying her vegetables and fruit, why not buying from Poles selling on the streets in the summer (what I do?).

I have a friend that his dad turned out to be a billionaire after the IPO of his company. And one time his dad said something very wise:

Most of that fruit and veg actually comes from the wholesale market - grown in Holland. It's still good to support the people who sell it though :-)

A lot of fruit for Spain, Greece .... . The grapefruits, pineapple, lemons.... ... sold on the street don't come from Poland ;). But it's true, since EK meant to pretend to be "one of us", it would have been better for her political image to shop at small Polish businesses.

Of course, in her private life, she does what she wants but since she is campaigning for re-election..... all détails count...
