Priests are paid by the Gov't in Poland.

Don't forget the bankers' donations. The coffers of the RCC are deep because of them.

Tell them a little bit

Don`t be unwise, Boletus. :):):):) I won`t tell anybody anything about it because it doesn`t lie in the sphere of my interest. :):):) I am not a fekking rationalist. :):):)

you are jut spinning fairy tales about self-supporting Catholic Church and about lack of any form of donations from the State.

What spinning fekking tall tales do you mean? I only posted thrice in this thread. :):):)

My first post was an answer to OP`s question about salaries:

but to be paying their salary? What's up with that?

Priests who work in schools as Catholic religion teachers are paid by the state.

My second post involved a sort of explanation of certain misunderstanding:

I am sorry, your post was a bit misleading that is why I mentioned priest teachers` salaries only.
But yes, the retired priests get their pensions from the state. Tusk declared the termination of this deal.

The third post was an expression of gratitude to strzyga.

Exactly. Thanks for taking the effort.

What the fekk do you mean with those fairy tales? Are you drunk? :):):):):)

- financing of repairs and conservation of some church properties

A question: who really profits from the renovation and maintanance of historical churches? The clergy? The peoples? The state? God?

I am also drinking hard tonight but I am still perfectly sober. :):):):):)

Well you can't be drinking hard then. Come on, pawian, that sentence didn't make sense ;)

Priests should be paid by the govt as the govt controls public funds and the majority of the Polish public see the merit in having priests.

Yes, it does. Whenever I go an a drinking spree, I eat a few tins of sardines before the binge. That allows me to remain sober.

Sort of. :):):):):):)

Well, the CC proposed a voluntary "social taxation" in Poland, 1% if I remember. Some economists think that this would take out more from the state coffers than under the current model.

Seanus, have you ever seen a drunk admit that he's drunk?
Or maybe they do admit it in Scotland?
Not in Poland though. It's written in our national code of behaviour. I'm surprised you don't know it yet.

Oleum, jako lżejsze, idzie do głowy?

I remembered it from somewhere and it bothered me so I consulted uncle Google. Onufry!!!

Guys, I am pouring myself another highball of home made wine mixed with sardine oil.

And I am so fekking sober.

It is unbelievable. Those sardines are so strong.

Apart from participating here, I am watching The Pearl of the Black Soil. Lovely film.

Onufry!!!

yep. The inventor of the glorious method. Although he used sunflower seeds, IIRC.

I'm not going to waste my time on you Mr racjonalista its radical leftist anti-polish site and whoever finds that site reasonably balanced is full of shite and only discussion with you can be with a little help of napalm.

All abuses and no content at all. Try harder, if you want to be taken seriously by anybody. Or go to the Radom Abuse thread and don't come back.

They ARE Polish. As far as I know, all of them.

I-S, there are ways and means of getting hold of such figures but my point is that there is almost always an undisclosed sum. The RCC didn't get rich purely from donations from your regular church-goer. How did their coffers get so deep?

Nope, their are not! Do you really want to go into definitions of who is Polish or who is not?

Why are you diverting discussion from priests in Poland to some mythical sums you seems to know much about?
Even if the RCC have some sums it doesn't effect priests in Poland and their financial standings.
As you well know the RCC is world wide organization with the Vatican, and they have a many dealings and issues, are you surprised that they have money as well ?

I'm not and do not see point in perusing that line.
I would be much more interested in the east-coast establishment that made fortunes on Poland and Poles after 1989,also Poland's so called busy-men with fortunes too big for their own good.

All abuses and no content at all. Try harder, if you want to be taken seriously by anybody. Or go to the Radom Abuse thread and don't come back.

And your point is ? You have nothing to say and nobody is taking you seriously anyway.

But they are NOWHERE close to your description of them as a "leftist anti-polish site". You sound like a little sick lazy puppy, who does not care about facts but yet who loves voicing his opinions nevertheless.

I don't care what I sound like to you. I'm done with you. Go and enjoy that anti-polish site full of shyte !

For readers unfamiliar with the issue discussed:
So called racjonaliści can claim whatever they want it doesn't make it so, they are in fact what I said their are.

More abuse and still no arguments. I remember you wanting to shoot people, now it's burning with napalm. If you have an anger management problem, go see a therapist, I've no time for that. Ignored.

Aha, so priests in Poland have nothing to do with the Vatican? That's news to me, I-S.

Would Jesus have wanted the RCC to be a for-profit organisation? If you really want to know more about them and their links to Poland, may I recommend the radio broadcasts of Greg Szymanski!? I-S, can't you see the priest as a strategic asset for elite bankers?

Do priests in Poland drive fancy cars and live in mansions? I honestly don't know. A friend I went to technikum with became a monk. They all have assigned work functions, even if some involve mostly prayer or reading same thing over and over. The way I see it, some people we should take care of, such as artists, priests and others that can only function in the institutionalized conditions.

Is that your newest conspiracy theory, conspiracy boy?

Would Jesus have wanted the RCC to be a for-profit organisation?

No, but he wanted the church to take care of the needy. How they were supposed to do that if they have no money? Were they going to fall from the sky somehow? That would be lovely but since that's not going to happen ...

Thanks. The answer below was what I was looking for. My apologies for opening up a can of worms...

Tusk's announcement was not about taxing the salaries but about pension and health service contributions

OK then. For starters (and I do know the people who run that site), somebody is Polish if they're from Poland, or if their family is from Poland or if they have a Polish passport, or if they are culturally and linguistically Polish. The people who run racjonalista.pl, the very same ones who you say aren't Polish fit not one, not two, but all of those criteria.

No. It's a statement of fact. They are Polish and nothing else.

I know that they are not Polish culturally.

Know them, do you? I personally know several of the folks who run the site, and I can assure you that culturally they are very Polish indeed.

Not every Pole has a picture of the previous Pope on their living room wall ;)

I don't mean to pour gasoline on the fire, but I noticed the phrase about the priest teaching 'religion' in schools and getting a salary paid by the state. Is the priest teaching comparative religion including the ideas of atheism and agnosticism? IMHO, that would be a public service. If he is promoting the values and the ideas of the Catholic church, then the Catholic church should be paying him.
