Poland: The poor get poorer - and next year will be worse

Barney, you're entirely right: there are lots of things the govt should spend less on so they can spend more on fighting poverty. One example that springs to mind is those f-16s.

But the only one the OP mentioned was the RCC....

Obviously you do otherwise you wouldn’t have chosen that word.

The OP decided to bring the Catholic Church into a debate about poverty in Poland based on his objection to a vanity project. and all we got was Catholic bashing with no other issues addressed. What measures do you think Poland should implement to eliminate poverty?

At last a bit of sanity, I too was thinking of the military budget.

As I said before: I'm not talking about individual believers, I'm pointing the finger at the bureaucracy of the church which is represented by the pope and his minions. I don't see how it can be discriminatory to call a pedophile and the organization that covers his ass criminal.


That was only a reaction to Ironside's silly remark to show respect for the RCC.


Create jobs, what else? Give people a reason to stay in the country.

Much of which will be wasted. I wonder how many billion Poland could sell its un-needed f-16s for.

This is the best news I've heard in relation to Poland in a long time.

And i still doubt its so high.

Does anybody know where one might find a chart showing the percentage of Poles who live in poverty? It might be nice to draw a graph showing the changes in the percentage of Poles who live in poverty and the changes in the percentage of Poles who attend church.

So there may be less God in Poland but there's also less poverty.

It doesn't work that way otherwise North Korea would be the richest country in the world!
