There is ONE place in Poland that is actually normal in thinking, and forward looking, and it's Pomorskie region.

Not they are not normal, it has been palce where sovietization of Poles progressed more than in other parts of Poland. That place where collective,a state owned farms have been a big part of the landscape to turn into ruin and slums after transformation.

Glad to educate you on that.

You did educate me, I have learned that you regard soviet mentality as a norm. Always glad to learn something new.

LOL. Do you always talk about the past?

Pomorze is number one in the economic tables and has been for the last 20 YEARS. If more Poles move to the Tri-City, maybe Poland can build something here.

But PiS want the old communist idea of bringing work to the people.

Hopeless. The truth is the other way around, and you know it.

Oi. Wielkopolska (mostly) has never embraced the nonsense found in the East and South. Neither has Opole.

It's all a bad joke. As if life wasn't hard enough here, we are now going to be harassed at every turn by a socialist government.
I will oppose them at every turn.

I wouldn't worry too much. 25 years of democracy and not a single year of it yet - PiS between 2005-2007 were far more centrist economically than now. I remember how Jarek refused to compromise with nurses, for instance.

I think if PiS do win power, most damage will be done in state-run institutions as they try and place their cronies in almost every single position.

Nonsense. A lot of my contacts are seriously considering their positions. They are high earners and can go where they please.

There's a lot of fear among small business owners in particular, especially as PiS hate them.

Delph - my missus did things BY the letter, to her detriment, while her employees bought new cars etc, and they (Kaczynski and co) audited her THREE times in two years.

Total communist style scum. They found zilch. Not ONE zloty to pay.
And we wonder why decent people fear harassment, when all they want is to live their lives? Words fail me, but if this was not a "family" forum.....

If more Poles move to the Tri-City,

Wow you are talking about Pomorskie, Pomorskie is now zachodniopomorskie and you are talking about gdanskie, different area. You got me confused!

Honesty I don't know and I don't care, supporting PO today is not a sign of a particularly bright minds.

Let's compare IQ. I'm not particularly bright. Otherwise I wouldn't have moved to Poland 23 years ago.

128......

If PiS wins, then I'll join an opposition party and help with removing them with power.

Good point, I heard that PO is looking for a primary school teachers with the bad command of Polish to help them out with the things.

If the PiS police come calling I will be away to set up shop in sunny Italy

I have a bad news on that one for you, it will require a bit of cash to start with.

There is ONE place in Poland that is actually normal in thinking, and forward looking, and it's Pomorskie region.

Indeed, there are plenty of Platforma haters in Pomorskie, especially in my birth place Tricity.

Pomorskie region is predominantly for PO - your defintion of "plenty" is laughable. When you have something to post of substance, this forum will listen.

I have a bad news on that one for you, it will require a bit of cash to start with.

Unlike you Wulkan, who doesn't understand the concept of class, I don't feel the need to prove my assets to anyone. As a Spolka CV of 15 years standing, I did alright, but now will no longer accept subsidising the socialist state with their ridiculous charges for ZUS, so will only sub-contract.

If I have your kind permission, that is?

We will see how is pomorskie for PO in a month. OK?

Walking the dog all day long and not cleaning after him isn't much of a class.

You're an adult man, you don't need anyones permission.

Szydło thinks that there's 50 billion złoty to be found in unpaid taxes, but I think we all know what they'll do to make up the holes in their budgets. They won't go after the big boys because the big boys will pour money into the opposition, so the only people left to harass will be the small business owner.

And you're right, they are complete communists masquerading as patriots. The research shows that the language they use is similar to what the Communists used (simple, crude propaganda) - and all their economic policies are just a repeat of late 1940's/early 1950's PRL.

Good point, I heard that PO is looking for a primary school teachers with the bad command of Polish to help them out with the things.

They shouldn't come looking for me then, given that my command of Polish isn't bad at all ;)

Indeed, there are plenty of Platforma haters in Pomorskie, especially in my birth place Tricity.

The mere fact that you're talking about "haters" shows the real mentality of PiS.

We will see how is pomorskie for PO in a month. OK?

Pomorskie went 59.78% to Komorowski vs 40.22% for Duda. The Trójmiasto went even higher - something like 62-63% for Komorowski. There's no way that Pomorskie is going to PiS.

People have learnt a lot since then.

"(PiS) saw a 2 pps decline in voter support in September to 34%, while ruling Civic Platform (PO) gained 3 pps to 30%, thus reducing PiS lead to 4 pps, the September poll by CBOS pollster showed."

PIS will win most votes, PO will form the next government.

People have learnt a lot since then.

Nice try, but unlikely. Anyone looking at this election (or in fact, any election since 2007) can see that it will all go down to how Małopolska votes. Komorowski lost the Presidential election there (and by not winning well enough in some provinces).

Anyone thinking of revising their outlook?

I think PiS will still win, but it won't be enough to form a majority government.

PO will form the next government.

Oh no -- another 4 years of the Platfus bribe & scam clique! That'd be pretty hard to take.
We can only bank on the wisdom of the Polish nation when they cast their ballots on 25th October.

Remember, PiS are entirely dependent on Kukiz or Korwin getting 5% of the vote, or doing something highly unlikely in the D'Hondt system - obtaining a majority.

Anyone thinking of revising their outlook?

The problem PiS have is that some of their supporters are already talking about Premier Kaczyński. If they continue, they're going to have problems.

No idea, the last I saw was that he "didn't rule out" joining forces with ZL. Quite surreal, when you consider that some of his remaining support is coming from Ruch Narodowy supporters.

looks like he is what he said he is...he claimed many times,he doesnt care about who he is with ,as long as they support hes jowy cause.

looks like he was serious about it.but JOWY is too narrow to build wider support..i dont even know if hes left winger or right, socialist or liberal,or conservative ...hes all about jowy thats it.just not enough for politycal party...good enough for social movement.

entirely dependent on Kukiz

PiS are hoping to win enough votes to go it alone. They were burnt in the past by linking up with Lepper's farm thugs and Niesiołowksi's former party, LPR.

I actually think it's a very good strategy on their part. They're showing that they've learnt a lesson from those bad days of 2005-2007, and it shows that they want to win the election rather than sneaking in the back door.

win the election

The latest Millward Brown poll also includes a parliamentary-seat breakdown:

PiS 38, PO 25, lefties 9, Petru 7, Kukiz 6 and Korwin and PSL 5% each.
This breaks down into the following distribution of parliamentary mandates:
PiS 238, PO 142, Left 42, Petru 27, Kukiz 10, Kowrin 7, PSL 2. German mnority 2.

If Korwin and PSL each got 5% why do the Korwin group get 7 seats and PSL only 2?

I really don't understand their methodology at all. You're right, it makes no sense.

The interesting thing to notice here is that the German Minority rise (to 2 seats from 1) may be a sign of PO losing support in the rural Western provinces. There were already signs in the Presidential election that this was the case (arguably, Komorowski lost the election by totally ignoring those areas) - so it may be part of a bigger trend.

But I'm still bewildered by these seat counts. PO in 2007 got 41.5% and 209 seats, while the SLD in 2001 got 41% and 216 seats. So how can PiS be on 238 seats with only 38%?

Burn? How? That horrible idea for a coalition was PiS's own idea and it clearly showed the electorate that they weren't as ready for prime time as they claimed. PiS knew what Samoobrona and LPR were before they picked them up.

The 2005-2007 period is actually incredibly fascinating if you look at how PO destroyed PiS over that two year period. PiS were repeatedly trying to dissolve the Sejm, PO refused to let them - and PiS were forced into stumbling from one mistake to another as a result. Kaczyński's own lust for power stopped Marcinkiewicz from running a successful government, as well. It was more or less a textbook example on how to run a successful opposition.

Could PiS be in exactly the same position this time round? Kaczyński won't be able to stop himself from interfering with Szydło's government, they won't have a stable majority and PO can just sit back and watch them suffer. From memory, even when Kaczyński became PM, he only had around 20% support from the voters.

I've found something rather hilarious to remind us of what PiS were like in power.

President Kaczynski has stated that
, since he assumed office, "there has been
no secret prison - I am 100 percent sure of it,
" and that he had been "assured there were
never any in the past either."

Hahahaha.

If Korwin and PSL each got 5% why do the Korwin group get 7 seats and PSL only 2?

That's because we are voting in +40 regions and in each of them the results are calculated as follows:
michalbuchta.eu/kalkulator-liczby-mandatow-metoda-d-hondta/

So in theory a party with +5% could even win 0 seats. It's the system that is pro-large parties. That's why party x with 40% support will get more than twice seats of y at 20%.

It seems to have happened in 2001 - AWS got 5.6% of the vote but no seats.

That's another thing, as a coalition of parties they needed 7 or 8% (not 5%) to get in.

Did you notice funny cases of Dorn (ex PiS leader) and Napieralski (ex SLD leader) who were adopted onto PO candidate lists?
