hmmm... this thread should be named "why fast-food isn't popular in poland"...

maybe we should recall worst fast-food we ever ate in poland and then recommend it to sheila?

my proposition is: kebab bar, located in center of sosnowiec, next to Kiepura monument. it's cheap, unhealthy and stinks. its just perfect for you sheila :)

Amazingly, we are apparently the 2nd fattest nation in the world after the US, and we are right behind US in fast food consumption. We love our Mc Donald's Big Macs, Hungry Jacks Ultimate Double Whoopers and we gorge on our KFC Bucket of Chicken. Yet we are healthier, sexier, sportier, wealthier and live longer than all eurotrash countries except Iceland and Switzerland. ne ne ne ne

Congratulations.

You are just British convicts looking for ways to shake off that tag ;) ;)

For cleanliness, food, technology, standard of living and women, Japan is no 1 :) :) As an all-rounder, it's in a league of its own :)

It is basically Eastern Europe if you accept Monaco-Strasburg as the dividing line ;)

I'm really wondering why was Serbia left out the list? I know we are not Switzerland, and we would not be ranked as high as maybe Greece, but was this just an overlook or something else?

Why do you feel Serbia should be there?

Because of the warm people.

Seanus, I believe the list should represent all of the countries in the world, right?
I have just realized, Montenegro, Bosnia and MAcedonia are also left out!

The Balkans has never received the recognition it deserves after bouncing back from the civil war of 92-95. A war which, we must remember, the West helped stoke up and kickstart.

Maybe Balkans is not correct, since Greece, Albania, Romania, Croatia and Slovenia are ranked. Maybe just x-YU republics, or at least 4 of 6. ;)

Albania? Why would they be ranked here?

Didn't need much stoking...

What kind of recognition are you talking about? Serbia and Macedonia are a dump. Bosnia is coming along quite nicely. The coastal countries are huge tourist and investment magnets.

And remember Balkans doesn't mean Yugoslavia :) The Greeks and Bulgarians are Balkan too :)

It needed some stoking, that's for sure.

Natasa, that doesn't look right and doesn't square with what my tour guide from Shkoder told me. Sascha, would you go to Albania as a Serb or is it too dangerous?

Albania? Why would they be ranked here?

Might have something to do with it being a developing country with a fairly high standard of living compared to income. It sits about equal with Serbia on the HDI, even though GDP per capita is half that of it's neighbor.

Albania is on the list as 57th.
COnvex, thank you for sharing you opinion abut Serbia and Macedonia. Praising Bosnia just uncovers the reason why you spit on Serbia. Anyhow, EVen if Serbia, Montenegro and MAcedonia are the biggest dumps, you really think that Ethiopia, Botswana, Tanzania..should be ranked ahead!? haha

you are one really funny guy!

Seanus. I am GERMAN(unlike other rumors here :-)).

I was there in the 90's frequently on business trips and then it was a sh1thole. Don't know how it looks now. Not interested.

Aha, es tut mir leid! Germany, eh? BB doesn't seem to think so.

Germany is in the top 10 in the list? I imagine so

COnvex, thank you for sharing you opinion abut Serbia and Macedonia.

You're welcome. Montenegro is awesome, same goes for Slovenia and Croatia. I thought that Bosnia was extremely well developed. The people were nice, and it felt like being in any other "western" country. I was only in the south, but I thought it was very nice. I don't know what you're getting at with the African countries. I never made any comments one way or another about the rankings.

I imagine most of the country to be nice, even Podgorica ;)
