Told ya those that because of this more Europeans from w europe will come to the east. Tgeres already a quite a bit of french and german seniors buying properties in wroclaw. Everyday theres tons of tour buses and groups youd never see that just 10 years ago. Now the amount of tourists is insane and a chunk of thrm even decide to retire here

Remember a year or two ago when I posted that Poland would become a European sanctuary someday.
The ex-pats here laughed and remarked that Poland had nothing to offer them.
It is a golden opportunity for Poland to start building modern senior citizen compounds to care for these foreigner seniors.
What else do old people have to spend their income and life savings on beside themselves being pampered.
They could put a whole lot of local people to work (24/7 care) at a good wage because a nice place for seniors are not cheap.

German seniors look already to Croatia and even Bulgaria...Poland would be so much better. Much closer and not so hot in the summer like Spain, till now the most favourite residence place for european oldies.

Poland is a perfect country for retirees.
Their dollar (Euro) goes a long ways.
Here in the U.S. these places are called, "Independent Living" complexes.
They have everything an older person needs including three nice cafeteria style meals per day, games, live music, movies, physical therapists, registered nurses, nurses aids, beauty salons, Wi-Fi, a bus to and from town or doctors appointments plus they are allowed to have their own car.

All of that employs a lot of younger compassionate people to look after them when their kids don't have the time to.
Their children pay big money to have their elderly parents out of the way and taken care of and the wealthy parents don't mind spending their children's inheritance that don't have time for them.

These places charge a minimum of $ 4,000 per month and most double that here in the U.S.
What an opportunity for Poland.

Don't be silly Johnny. Poland is no place for seniors. For a start they don't salt the pavements my way. And hospitals have no food. And there is no sympathy. And pensions are taxed.

I remember reading an article about retirement homes in Silesia that are trying to attract German retirees. The lower costs in Poland mean that each retiree gets attention by the staff (which speaks German) that would impossible to finance in Germany.

...young Poles come to Germany for work and old Germans go to Poland for retirement...how far we have come!!! :)

Calm down Dougy,Poland has the best care financially as JR mentioned,the hospitals do have food I guess you are still living in the lala land when some expats here use to advice that landlords could be threatened with tax dept in Poland as no landlords paid taxes on rent ( hope fully those comments are saved somewhere)and do you really care about the way you think think natives who are almost 40mil?IF YOU DONT LIKE THE PLACE YOU LIVE IN L E A V E!lol f you an afford to financially:)

Exactly, toe nails cut, body massages, hair done up, beds made up for them....the everyday things that have become difficult for them.
And some of these retirees are very wealthy with no one to leave their cheese to so they leave it to the retirement home (who pampered them in their last years) to make the place even nicer. (Salt for the walk ways in the winter)

I'm telling you that Poland has a huge untapped resource here.
Those retired people on those tourist buses are eyeing a potential affordable place to live in bliss.

Back to lecturing Germans...

The crazy thing is that its in wroclaw which isnt even on most peoples radar like warsaw or krakow. But still you cant go a day without seeing busloads of seniors on tours mostly from france or germany. Atleast in poland they feel safe and know some third worlder won't try mugging them. Quite a few senior women have even been raped now thats just ******.... also the weather in poland isnt much different from germany france uk etc. Lot of chinese and korean tourists now too...

Most of them will go back home and live there but an increasing amount are settling down in pl. I think the biggest barrier is language though because most seniors from france germany etc dont speak english so itd be harder for them to get around in the polish cities.

From Germany I can understand...my own family stems from old Breslau...but France?

Oh ya lots from france probably second most after Germany, followed by uk/uk, followed by distant countries like china and korea. Theres even an increasing amount of west africans speaking french too but those are independent tourists not like travel groups or tours. You can tell by the language they speak. You cant mistake french vs german vs english. You go into the rynek or the nicer hotels and you can tell when they speak with each other and by the group tour. Wroclaw now gets something like 5 mil tourists a year according to LOT. Im sure theres a lot from denmark Netherlands the Scandinavian countries etc as well.
