Because my Spartan expression were moved to random. I want to express(second time) my disappointment of the choice people made - well morons are easy to manipulate.

And if he continues to lead, we're in for another crappy presidency :-(

As I said, Kaczynski has congratulated Komorowski to the victory.

The fact that JK has, sort of, conceded defeat has nothing to do with actual results. This will have no impact on final official results. Unfortunately....

Actually, it's not such a surprise - we know that the countryside is quicker to report the results than cities. I don't think it's enough of a lead for Kaczynski - he only has a lead of 65,000 or so right now.

The one thing is certain - half of Poland is going to refuse to recognise this result.

Szwed you need to realise what JK just did was a purely diplomatic move "i have class i can accept defeat" it costs him nothing since the votes aint counted yet, if he lost he's done so with class, if he won he still showed some class, those congrats were a purely PR move.

Agreed! He has fought an effective campaign :) Hats off to JK for conducting himself well. He has come on a bit since 2004/05.

Dont get your hopes up, he still sucks as a politician, he did improve his PR but he remains the same person he was.

Kaczynski has a slender lead as results are being counted .... Kaczynski has 50.4% whilst Komorowski has 49.6%

Kaczynski had initially accepted defeat, but Komorowski's camp remained cautious.

I could not care less about a view of Poland in the eyes of the foreign nations. Why should I?

Yep .... it's getting mighty close ...

Quite the opposite. From being 75,000 votes down to Kaczynski, Komorowski is now 350,000 ahead with only 20% left to be counted.

Can't see Komorowski losing it now - in real terms, there's about 3 million votes to be counted - meaning that Kaczynski needs about 55-45% in the final results to win. It's not going to happen.

I could not care less about a view of Poland in the eyes of the foreign nations. Why should I?

Because these countries are the ones that do business in Poland and provide wealth for Poles. Unless of course, you want those high days of 1990 back!

Komorowski has done it - well done to him :)

The statistics are very interesting - for instance, Komorowski has won 60-40% in cities. In the countryside, it's the reverse - Kaczynski has won 60-40% there.

And now, the excuses, conspiracy theories and rantings start from PiS members....

According to Dutch newspapers, Komorowski has won. A liberal. Good choice, he is probably what Poland needs for the next few years. Congratulations, Poland, well chosen.

A liberal. Good choice,

Well let's just hope it's a better choice than the liberal idiot we put in office here in the U.S. a year and a half ago. Hopefully a Polish liberal has more common sense than an American liberal!

There is no liberal parties in Poland right now.
Conception of the liberal state means that the government interventions and regulations into everyday life of average citizen shall be reduced to the minimum. Basically liberal approach to the citizens is like "You are an adult. You know the best what is good for you. We respect that."

At this point both of major parties in Poland (PO and PiS) are strong supporters of a social state that regulate all aspects of life of the citizens (supposedly for their own good) by the huge and expensive bureaucratic aparat. Such an conception of the State by definition place these two parties on the left side of the scene.

The only difference between these two parties is a matter of slogans and language.
The PiS use the patriotic-catholic-national language and national symbols such as Jasna Góra Monastery or Piłsudski. I would call this party a national-socialists, but unfortunately this name is already taken. See:

National Socialist German Workers' Party
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_Party

PO - on the other hand, introduce itself as a cosmopolitan, open-minded, progress party.
If you compare the PO slogans to the old Comintern slogans, you would by surprised.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comintern

The third major party in Poland is SLD.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Left_Alliance
Party that is openly leftist.

If you compare the programs and goals of these three parties - You'll see that apart from symbols and slogans - there is no real difference. There is no liberal, centre, or right-wing party in Poland at this moment.

BTW - you called Obama an liberal. WOW! I tell you - no liberal would come with the idea of the "Obamacare" or pump a public money into fallen industry or private banks.

Exactly, there are no liberals in America. They simply do not exist. In America it's the Far Right Nutjobs vs everybody else.
