John Godson, born in Nigeria, might become Poland Sejm's first black deputy!

Deputy Dogg maybe. I can't see Poles granting such an exalted position to a black person. JK will have a heart attack and be on the phone to Rydzyk for advice ;)

Geeze1 I thought that i was finished with this thread. But I see not much has changed since i was here earlier in the day. There are questions being asked that I feel should be answered as best as i can. But mine is not the final word. I am not anathority on this issue.. I merely express my views. This is not only a Americam versus Europe thing.. Here in America it is an everyday battle. We have about the same amount of liberals as conservatives. (bigots)

Ziti! I cant answer your question about Poles on England. But I can tell you that poles are still immigrating to America, and none of them want to leave, once they are here. America with all of its problems is still a land of oppertunity. they are welcomed and not discriminated against. They are hard working and (civilized) they are just like the early immigrants.. I dont know what the problem is in England.

It is said on here that America was built on the backs of blacks.. BULL SHIDT. America was built on the Backs of European immigrants. Our cities were once all white and just about crime free. Our neighborhoods werepretty well ethnic.. Because when the immigrants came over they soight compatibility with their own countrymen.. there were language barriers.. But they all co-existed.. After WW2. The Blacks arrived frpm the south and brought their crime and drug problems with them.. Then came white flight.. As the blacks moved on the whites moved out to the countryside.

Ok i could go on and on but my eyes are giving out. It will be interesting to watch and see where this thread goes..I could put events on here that you wouldnt believe anyhow.

In the meantime i remain your racist, biggoted nunczka

"Godson"!

Now that is an interesting name...I wonder who gave his ancestor THAT name and why???

Maybe they were all holy folk so they got the name Godson? They were Christians so they were given a name that meant "son of God" more or less?

Born in Nigeria, John Godson can enter the Sejm

You know this isn't really the sejm - just the local council in Lodz...

Or his great great grandfather could have been the Godson of a Nun or Priest and that's why he has that last name...

Soon they will be coming. They feel powerful now as even a proud slavic country like Poland seems to give way to african neocolonialism.

Wtf you on about?

Read up on Polish patriotism!

Then he was converted and came to Poland, as ... missionary. Godson 12 years ago was a pastor of the Polish Church of God in Christ.

I got more of questions about THIS!

ho believe, as Jarnowa does, that black people have no place in Europe - but they never get many votes

Well, they don't have much with Europe to do WITH, BUT if they adjust and learn how to behave and aren't mongrols I got nothing against them really.

Being hostile to them just becaouse of their skinn color is ridiculous to me.
I am more into their social&cultural background! That counts hell more!

I don't get it - he got 16% of the vote in his district for the Rady, so surely he was elected outright? He certainly won the highest percentage of votes in his ward.

Hasn't he taken Zdanowski's seat through the way that Poland's electoral system works?

(for what it's worth, it's a shame that he's won his seat in the Sejm through someone else dropping out as opposed to winning it in an election - though I guess he'll get the chance to defend it next year)

Please, don't call John Godson 'black' - he is an Afropole, and he is officially
the first Afropole member of Polish Parliament...

wybory.onet.pl/samorzadowe-2010/aktualnosci/w-sejmie-zasiadzie-pierwszy-czarnoskory-posel,1,4016861,aktualnosc.html

...we should welcome John Godson to Sejm with joy and ignore those who say that £ódź
should be razed to the ground ("first Ich Troje, then Pavulon and now this...", as one
backward, xenophobic anti-Afropole said.)

Afropole? Is that a race? Sort of like African American? Although I'm glad he's so successful it's too bad political correctness madness has now reached Poland too... Afropole... I'm glad he wasn't from Nigeria or they'd invent a yet another idiotic term for him... Oh wait, he is born in Nigeria...

How about simply a Pole? ...and if someone wants to know more about him than call him a Pole who happens to be black?

I don't really know about this type of thing but it seems to me that people in America call themselves Polish/American, Irish/American so why not African/American?

Would you say that he is American who happens to be Polish?

The Blacks arrived frpm the south

Yep, and why do you think they came from the south? Why do you think they were uneducated and such? The south is still part of the US (much as they may not like it).

I'm not saying your a racist in that you like to wear pillow cases and burn crosses, I'm just suggesting you haven't considered a few social aspects of things.

For your info, the thing in UK and Ireland was that most of the first wave of Poles were highly educated but often took low status jobs cos they were easy to get and paid better than a higher status job back in Poland. Eventually the good stock dried up and more of the chaff started coming over.... firms took advantage and started paying lower wages... wages went down in many industries etc...

Not the fault of Poles, just shyster bosses, as usual.

I got more of questions about THIS!

This isn't just a Polish thing. Plenty of Africans have come to UK and France as missionaries, cos we're all so godless.

For your information, I have never worn a klan uniform. As a matter of fact, I have never seen a so called Klansman. I was under the impression that the klan was disbanded over 50 yrs ago.

It's idiots like you, who have never lived in the US, seem to know what we endure better that we Yanks do.

As for the Poles in England, I would gladly give you three blacks for every Pole that wanted to come to America. Poles in the states do not have to clean toilets or do menial labor. Our labor force is full of Poles. You would be surprised how many Polish millionairs there are over here. In Florida ,where I live. Look into a phone book and see the polish names. These people worked, saved their money and retired in the land of pleasant living.

Zeti, You Europeans are too serious about life. We Americans have a broader sense of humor.. This is normaL for Americans to make fun of each other. Bohemians are called Bohunks, Italians (Wops) Jews (Kikes) Irish (Spicks) Germans ( Kraut heads ) Greeks ( Grease balls) Arabs (Rag Heads) french (Frogs) Mexicans (Chicanos) Koreans ( Gooks)

This is normal in the states.. right or wrong.. We live with it.

Irish (Spicks)

LOL - so not only are you alarmingly proud of your "broad sense of humour" xenophobic slang, you can't even get them right.

For your information, I have never worn a klan uniform. As a matter of fact, I have never seen a so called Klansman. I was under the impression that the klan was disbanded over 50 yrs ago.

I wasn't saying you were a klansman, I said that I'm not saying you are "racist" in the sense of being like a klansman.

The klan is still going, by the way. A few years ago Britain barred entry to two of their top 'wizards'. They pop on on Jerry Springer now and again and have their own website (I believe there are several factions these days).

Yep, call me an idiot, but also consider what I'm writing properly before you do.

I have made no comment about how what you say is wrong in that you know how life is there (and you're right, I've never been to the States), I have just said that your comment that everything was rosy until the Blacks came needs to consider where the Blacks were coming from.

Now, as a matter of fact, I don't agree with a lot of this 'multiculturalism'. It makes me a little angry to go for a job and have to fill in an ethnicity section on a form (particularly when 'English' isn't listed as an ethnicity but Irish is).

You mention Dorset, well I worked in Devon a few years. Until the 1960's there were hardly any Blacks there (I met a woman who was one of the first) and even now there aren't many. However, there is a growing Arab and Middle-Eastern population (probably because of all the language schools) and, I believe, Indian-Asian. however (if it is true) I didn't like hearing that there were plans to import a large group of Africans into the area from London because it was, to me, unnatural migration in that they weren't making their own way there and a new community wasn't developing. The culture shock for residents might be hard to deal with.

Britain has a large Indian population. They have been here well over fifty years and have faced discrimination etc. however, the first generations worked like hell to achieve something and they did. They've enriched britsh culture and they've given a lot (and received a lot). In many cases they've passed their work ethic onto their kids.

Your Blacks were home grown...

What I'm objecting to in many of the posts here is an idea that equality is fine as long as you aren't Black. it's OK for Poles to go somewhere and be immigrants and make successes of themselves... but not Blacks. OK for Poles to become citizens of another country and make something of themselves... but not Blacks. Poles can bleat about poor treatment in UK etc but it's fine for a tax-paying brit in Poland to be refused credit because the Polish government and credit firms can't get their joint act together with id cards.

I was speaking with an Arab who lives in Poland and he was saying although he and his friends are trained doctors (trained in Poland by Polish doctors) they have heard people ask for a Polish doctor on hearing they were Arabs. What bull! If they were hanging over a cliff and it was an 'ethnic' hand which offered to pull them up, would they say they'd rather have a Polish one?

There have been 'ethnic' students in Poland for decades and there is still not a major Black population. But for those citizens of Poland who are Black, or Vietnamese... why should they not be allowed to be represented by a Black politician. More to the point, if WHITE POLES choose him, why should their views not be considered as valid?

You Europeans are too serious about life. We Americans have a broader sense of humor.

Oh come on... you can't even say 'the N-word' in NY now! A US politician dresses as an SS soldier in reenactment and the world turns upside down. Ted Danson blacks up and the halls of hell reverberate.

Miley Cyrus does a slant-eye face and there's law suits flying around.

We live with it.

Our Royalty still uphold it.

By the way, how was the fishing?

My, My, You sure are ripe this morning. As for your above post.. Does it not mattar that we have a black man for our President? I know what you are thinking.. No, I did not vote for him.. as a matter of fact, the majority of white people who did vote for him, now have second thoughts. He is a one term President.

Our Congress is loaded with blacks. Did you ever hear of the black caucus..No. I am sure that you have no idea what i am talking about..

Did you ever hear of affirmative action. well for your information, it is an act that grants preferance to nlacks over whotes in job placements.

Black farmers were just granted $50,000.00 for some kind of injustice that they claimed.
The list is endless..
The white man keeps getting it up the Kista.. That should make you happy. But 2012 is coming and we will put things back the way thst they were.

i have no desire to pick a fight with you European liberals.. But I do reserve my right to speak my piece

ok Mr.Frank, but tell us have you never met any decent black man/woman in your 85-years long life?

Does it not mattar that we have a black man for our President?

This guy is really white not black. I never thought of him being black despite his skin color. He has nothing in common with Afroamerican society as a person brought up by a white woman in Asian envioroment. I consider him as a career focused man who just used his "ethnicity" to become american senator easier way. Nothing more.

I support that right, but only as i reserve the right to reply to it (and you to me).

Yes, I've heard of affirmative action (and I am skeptical about it). The black caucus? I seem to remember something about a boys club for Black politicians? Again, I dislike that as much as i dislike an all-whites club, or a non-Jewish club.

Liberal I may be by your standards, but I don't agree with favouritism. I agree with a level playing field and not tilting it forward and backwards (which i think affact can do).

And no, I didn't think it was a good idea for people to vote for Obama because he was Black any more than to vote for Thatcher because she was (allegedly) a woman or Scwarzenegger because he made cool movies.

Ziti.. I never got to go fishing yesterday a weather front was moving in.. And since we fish far offshore, it was not wise to venture out.

As far as good blacks go.. yes, there are great blacks out there.. i came across many.. But my preference is not to mingle with them.. The cultures are too different

but we already have implemented it. During PRL some social classes were priviledged in Unis aplications... It's always unfair even if there was colonialism somewhere.

of course... I'd forgotten that. But they were poor Poles, so it was OK ;-)

I suppose offering scholarships to African students etc might also e seen in the same way. Not simply a way of showing how great the socialist nations were.
